As a photographer, I find this hidden gem to be of more scenic beauty than the "actual" painted desert to the east at Petrified Forest National Park, and particularly it's a great spot to catch a sunset as the badlands, cliffs and hoodoos light up...More

What a beautiful, colorful view! The best part? We were the only people there! There is nothing better than being able to see something this beautiful and hear nothing but the wind. It appears this was once a popular attraction (maybe in the route 66...More

This spot offered some amazing views of a small painted desert but the place is not kept up at all - it’s hard to find and practically abandoned. Despite this the views are stunning. I don’t know why they don’t maintain it but it’s sad...More

When I saw this location at age twelve I remembered it to be more colorful from what I observed 54 years later. It was still pretty, but much paler than before. Don’t ask me why because I really have no answer. Maybe my vision was...More

It appears the funding has been cut or jurisdiction for this park has changed - the restrooms appear to be permanently closed, the road as you come to the rim has large (high speed car damaging) potholes, the road side sign has been removed (gps...More

So beautiful! Breathe taking views so worth the drive over to it! It was a lot of starting and stopping but amazing! Take your camera even though it won't capture the beauty it will help you remember.

If you don't note the small rock constructed obelisk near the entrance to the park you'll drive right by the entrance. It apparently had a plaque on it at one time to designate the park which has been apparently stolen. The park has two very...More

We were in Winslow for Standin' On the Corner Park and took the 15 mile detour north to see this park. The sign at the side of the road is very easy to miss and there are some large holes in the road near the...More

There are no gates/fencing in this area. I'm sure you could attempt to walk down but not sure how safe it would be. I wouldn't recommend. We just walked along the perimeter because we were traveling with a 18 month old. This... More
