We took a trip with Erick Pacheco tours to this island and we had a great time. We saw lots of whales close up on way over and way back. We also snorkelled with turtles. We were taken to a beautiful beach in the island....More
The island itself is beautiful but having a snorkeling tour you are usually allowed for 15 min stay max. The reason to go there is snorkeling what we did twice. It was after a heavy rain at night so the water wasn’t clear. We were...More
The snorkeling was great! We saw three turtles and many fish and the visibility was probably around 30ft. From the boat, the captain spotted a whale and her calf, dolphins, and a large turtle, so that was an unexpected and wonderful bonus. The beach we...More
You will see sharks, rays, dolphins - yes everything! If you can opt for an early morning adventure where you are allowed several times into the water you will see more. Sunscreen is NOT enough - wear an SPF shirt - really. By the end...More

We went in the wet/green season (August) and never had the rain stop us from doing anything we wanted. It always rained late in the day. The best strategy is to get up early when it is cooler. (The early sunrise and howler monkeys encourage an early wake up anyway.) You can aim to be back to your accommodation and relaxing by mid-afternoon when it is at the hottest. These comments apply generally, but we found our August snorkelling experience to be superb and unforgettable.
