About
The Goodenough Mine a historic site is one of the twenty five producing silver mines in the Tombstone Mining District, which started the mining boom, resulting in the incorporation of the City of Tombstone. When you take the tour, you will be shown through the original 1879 workings by a knowledgeable guide, and learn all about nineteenth century hard rock silver mining. You'll see what the ore looked like, learn how it was processed, see beautiful rocks and minerals, and artifacts and structures that have been in place for 130 years. This is one of the mines owned by Ed Schieffelin, the founder of the town, part of the Tombstone Mill and Mining Company, which he founded as well. The Goodenough Mine Tour is the most authentic and unique attraction in the City of Tombstone, and you'll see the results of the hard work of the miners. It's an experience that you will enjoy. Tours are approximately 45 min. We also have Panning for Gold, Historical Trolley Tour of Tombstone and more...

Wow! Good Enough Mine tour is a MUST if you are looking to increase your knowledge on the history of tombstone. Our tour guide was so articulate and entertaining. He was so knowledgeable of the history of the town and the mine. I have lived in AZ my whole life and have visited tombstone before. After attending this tour, I was able to leave with more information and an appreciation of this town!

The tour was both entertaining and informative!
Ray, our presenter, did an amazing job of keeping us laughing while filling our minds with enough stories and information to vicariously place us into the 1880's as a miner.
Ray clearly has a passion for history and a great knowledge of how the process and the players worked, in the "Goodenough" silver mine.
DO NOT MISS the opportunity to learn about this piece of American history.

Great tour, would recommend the first level tour to anyone. Guides are knowledgeable, attentive, and polite. Very fun learning what use to go on in the mine. Two good things the miners had to worry about and thankfully you don’t while on the tour: lead poisoning and availability of light source.

The mine tour was the highlight of our visit to Tombstone. Ray could not have been more enthusiastic as he led us through one of the most meaningful parts of Tombstone, the Good Enough Mine! If you are short on time and only can do one or two things while you are in Tombstone, make sure this is on your list. Thanks Ray for making our visit a ton of fun.

If you enjoy learning and walking through history this is where to go! Our guide, Ray, started off by giving a little history lesson about how the mines came about and we then walked to the mine. He kept us informed the whole time about what we were looking at and was well open to questions. We got to see how complete darkness is and got to see silver and other minerals first stages in rock. Overall, it was an awesome experience. The only reason I did not give a perfect 5 star rating was because we paid, signed waver and got our hard hats and walked to look around before our time slot...the lady we paid came down to get us and said our card declined. We gave her a different card after trying again. It charged the second card (we checked our bank account) and later that day charged the first card AGAIN! Still working to get it fixed with our bank.

We were in Tombstone for a few days, saw many attractions above ground, but decided to take a look underground and the reason for finding Tombstone. We were greeted by a nice tall gentleman out front with a very distinctive voice, he signed us up for a tour that was starting in 10 minutes. We met Ray, our mine guide, who was very informative about Ed Schieffelin (the founder of Tombstone”, the town and how the mines got their names. We went into the mine, Ray was an excellent guide and showed us all kind of things about the mine, and some we couldn’t see! He was very pleasant, upbeat and really helped make the experience in the mine a great one! Thanks Ray!
