A little cold. And a little tricky crossing the creek 26 times - 13 times each direction. But a great hike overall.

This is a wonderful trail to hike, even if you will only go half way in. But DO NOT hike it in the winter as you have to cross the creek several times and will be soaked with some freezing water! Fabulous hike in warmer weather. Stunning displays - take pictures!

Mostly flat hike great relaxing time. Trails not marked well in some areas and bring walking sticks to help get across the streams. Good chance your shoes will get wet but not a big deal.

What a beautiful walk... notably for the many stream views and crossings and the many trees lining the trail that had changed color to hues of yellow and red. It is a rather easy walk with the low water levels. The sign said 14(?) stream crossings - not sure if that is correct but there were many. There are rocks and logs to step on to avoid stepping into the water. We started very early, arriving shortly after 7 am. There were only two other cars at that time. There is a parking fee ($11) that was payable via cash using an envelope deposit system (no credit card machine that we could see). Note that the trail is heavily shaded and rather chilly in the morning during this time of year. I recommend going early to enjoy a more peaceful walk and being able to take pictures without other people in them. I believe the parking lot was full before 9 am. This was a hike recommended to us by a local resident. My favorite hike in Sedona area. Highly recommended!

We took others suggestion and arrived early 6:50am. The parking lot is half full. The temperature is much cooler than the city, so wear layers. It was easy trail without huge up down but it is soft sand trail which is a little hard to walk on. The fall color is perfect display along the trail. At the end of trail, we continue walk along the side rock for half miles, the view is amazing, worth the extra effort!
