Oracle State Park is a 4,000 acre wildlife refuge in the northern foothills of the Catalina Mountains. The park offers day-use picnic areas and over 15 miles of trails for use by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. A section of the Arizona Trail crosses through the park. And it is a designated International Dark Sky Park. Oracle State Park also serves as a Center for Environmental Education and provides programming for all ages. Interactive programs for school groups are offered by reservation. These programs are conducted along trails, so students learn about habitat and the interrelationships between plants, animals, and people.

When we went we were one group of about three at the whole park (from what I could tell). Our daughter did the junior ranger program, and it was nicely put together, and dare I say she actually learned something. The Kannally ranch house was...More

I seriously thought about buying a yearly membership even though I am not a local, as I am very fond of visiting for short walks while in the area. The Kannally house is quite a treat especially with knowledgeable and helpful staff. The tour is...More

Stopped in but weren’t sure what it was. Maybe a hiking park and for that I guess it’s ok. Maybe check it out and let the others know.

We have now visited twice and know this will be our local choice for hiking. One sees few other groups and the vistas are breathtaking. Dogs on leashes are allowed on most trails. Such a variety of trails that there will be one to suit...More

Went looking for a hike and were happy to find Oracle State Park. I expected it to be more of a desert terrain but it is higher in elevation, about 3600 feet, and was quite hilly. The Rangers recommended we do the Granite Cliff hike...More

This park is not large but is a nice spot for easy family hiking or picnics. The ranch house is a plus. Not very crowded during the week at all. Staff, rangers and volunteers were great. Nice views. Group areas are available as well. Good...More

This is a really good park, with a variety of trails, lots of different birds, and a charming ranch house to tour. The park rangers are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of picnic benches in lots of locations—from the beautiful patio of the ranch...More

I have been to the State Park building for a couple of Photography classes - lots of things happen there. There are varying length hikes - we need to do more of them!
