My husband and I stopped at the fields as part of our day trip with Chef John Tours on Savai'i. It is definitely worth seeing the devastation the volcano caused - especially the half buried church ruins.

Worth a visit, it's very picturesque and unusual. Loved hearing the stories about it and the Virgin's Grave. The church is amazing and great photo opportunity.

There's a little house with some information about the Lava Fields which was neat and helpful! A woman escorted us through and relayed the story of what happened, it was so sunny she even got an umbrella for us to use - what great service!
