The train was OK for the $10 cost but could easily be skipped. We were tired and thought that a 50 minute rest would be good and that is what we got. People on the train with us talked non-stop so it was difficult to hear the commentary. The two stops were nice - got some photos of the town.

We had planned do do our own thing but when we arrived in Ushuaia it was pouring with rain. As we disembarked off the cruise ship they were giving everyone ponchos. We went to the tourist office and they recommended this tour and pointed us to the train which was about to leave. It wasn't their fault but just imagine 40 hot wet people in a carriage and what do you get - Steam! They kept coming round to wipe the windows. They did their best with an interesting commentary but we really couldn't see anything. The two stops were good though. Just. pleased we didn't waste money on a more excursion.

50 minutes of my life I'll never get back! The 'train' includes 2 stops at view points and then trundles round the streets of ushuaia with nothing much else to see. 10 dollars wasted. Would not recommend.

I know that sounds harsh but we were expecting more. Only slightly cheaper than the city bus tour, we picked this one as it started at 10, half an hour earlier than the bus. We were the only two passengers on the train and the entire tour took literally 45 minutes (remembering it only runs 3 times during each day). By what I have read of the bus, the train covers less ground than the bus despite what we were told at the visitors information centre. The highlights are the two lookouts but a good taxi driver would be able to get you there. The narrative, in English and Spanish, is more about the history of the town and the indigenous people and not about what you are seeing around you, defeating the objective of being a tour. It also does not give you the opportunity to hop off at different points and hop on (again, note the frequency). For the centre of town, do it on foot.

I agree with other reviewers that this tour was short (1 hour), the highlights of which were the two stops to take photos of both the cityscape and overlooking the city. It was inexpensive and a good overview of the panorama. If you want commentary, there is none. Go with an open mind and you won’t be disappointed. In addition, you’ll have plenty of time to wonder the downtown streets/shops/boardwalk as well as this little tour.
