Our tour guide (Jimena) knew so much about various tombs/people in the cemetery as well as Argentinian history. Her English was excellent so it was easy to understand her. She also offered her own philosophical/insightful perspective of some symbols and/or meanings. Highly recommend the tour. We were lucky enough that no one else booked so we had a private tour.

This was such a unique experience. The size and detail of these mausoleums were incredible and the cemetery itself was so big. A definite must see coming to Buenos Aires.

Time flies with an entertaining and knowledgeable guide named Jimena who speaks English although born in Buenos Aires. Over 13 acres is this architectural marvel dating back to early 1800's with over 4,800 marble tombs and mausoleums. There were 9 of us ranging in age from 30's to 70's that could comfortably walk the cemetery with its avenues and side streets. Our guide
provided insight on approximately 15 sites of interest starting with the upper front gate facade. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour - would highly recommend. Jime was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions too! Usually we don’t bother booking a tour but I’m converted now !

Bought two Senior tickets for about 4000 pesos. Simon a UK chap was nearby the ticket area and leading an English speaking tour within 10 mins. About a dozen people and we paid just tips - really engaging talk if you can link up for the one hour plus...

So fun! Our guide, Jimena, is a lively and spirited, informative public speaker who deeply cares about her country. Her mastery of the English language is quite good, which is not always the case on a tour like this, in my experience. She also used a small portable speaker system which prevented us from feeling left out/left behind and allowed our small crowd to gather more loosely.
The tour itself is a must because you learn about the stories behind the inhabitants. I’m sure a walk through the cemetery would be peaceful and somewhat interesting given what you can read on the tombs, but with this you learn about the history and culture of Buenos Aires and Argentina. There is much fodder here - it’s almost unlimited. No spoilers here, but don’t miss patting the dog’s little nose.
Enjoy! (Jimena, thank you again. You are a wonderful ambassador of your country.)

Really good value for the price as touring this very unique cemetery w/o having a guide would have made the experience a lot less special. Our guide, clearly fascinated by the famous cemetery & its inhabitants herself, regaled us with so many stories told jn interesting ways that the tour, supposed to be 90 min, actually went 2 hours. This cemetery was unlike anything I've ever seen anywhere else and so worth a visit for a different way to experience the history of BA.
