Went there recently to hear a choral group on Saturday. Rammed with people and the group were really, really good. The Mayor was there and gave a speech which sounded good.

The church where the fishing community gathers to celebrate the living - baptisms, weddings, confirmations, and fishing festivals. Services to mourn or remember the dead including those lost at sea are held next door in the funerary chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora dos Aflitos.

This small church is one of the symbols of Olhao. From the outside it looks quite minimal and only the back shows azulejos and candles. The interior is beautifully done and cared for and it is worth a couple of minutes spent in meditation.
