Definitely one of the most important Catholic church in the country. Many Virgin Mary devotees come on a Wednesday. Inside , they kept reminding of the health safety protocols such as social distancing. Meaning patrons are to stay one seat apart from each other. Outside the church are those lining up for the candle prayer section. Also there are those selling prayer fliers , and religious statues as well. Further out are several fast food restaurants and even the Baclaran market. As well see people doing instagram , facebook and tiktok.

It is very solemn place that you can pray properly. It may be full of people but you can feel the solemnity of the place.

So solemn place to visit with friends and family. Religious Landmark when you visit here in Metro Manila. Also, so historic with lots of symbolic architecture inside the church.

Every Wednesday, Filipino devotees flock to Baclaran church (officially name National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help) to ask help of their personal intention. Our Lady is known to be a powerful intercessor who takes pity on us who ask for her help…
Today, it attracts about hundreds of thousand devotees every Wednesday, otherwise known as Baclaran Day. It said “The Baclaran Church has been part of the socio-cultural landscape of the country, particularly in Metro Manila and has been a pilgrim site among the millions of Marian devotees in the Philippines, and also attracts domestic and foreign tourists.”
On of the most notable changes that the church had undergone is the development and beautification of the church ground with more art works installed.

The church is nice, and worth a visit when in Baclaran. There does appear to be scaffolding inside but not clear if this is due to recent earthquakes in Manila.
Overall a great escape from Baclaran.

Visited National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in May19. It was a hot sunny day and the church was a welcome relief from the heat. The church is beautiful and has a sense of peace and quiet. There was no service ongoing, so it was nice to sit in silence and pray for awhile. Wednesdays are busy days when devotees visit the shrine. The shrine is open 24-7. The church holds The Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help which according to history journeyed from the island of Crete to Baclaran.
Outside the church to the right is the Candle Chapel where you and light a candle. There is wall art on the southern wall of the garden, near the Candle Chapel. It is the longest wall art in a church composed of mosaics and murals. However, the grounds are not maintained and littered. The grounds also have a number of small well and fountains - but the water is stagnant and pigeon roosts in the area have led to a foul smell.
There is a Carillon Bell Tower to the left just as you enter the church compound. It is worth a visit to climb to the top for a view of Baclaran, MOA and the large bells. The entrance is via the Sinirangan Coffee Shop which is a quaint coffee shop at the base of the Bell Tower. They serve hot or cold coffees, hot chocolate and smoothies and proceeds from their sales go towards the poor farmers of Eastern Samar.

This church is located just off the Baclaran Market. We were there on a Wednesday morning. There was a service going on and the entire sanctuary was filled with worshipers. There were many worshipers and visitors standing at the church entrance. Others were at the side hall offering candles and prayers. The service were broadcast via speakers, hence I could hear the service even though I was outside. I was amazed at the locals’ devotion and faith.

It is a religous Roman Catholic Church in honor of “Our Mother of Peroetual Help” or “Ina nang Laging Saklolo” in tagalog. There is a novena in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mother every Wednesday.
