Not having been back to the Philippines in over 20 years, much was done prior, in terms of research, what to do and where to go ?
Went to the White Bird on my 1st night and decided not to go anywhere else. Went a total of 3 nights, a 2nd night prior to going to Borocay and on my last night. This is not the Silverado in Portland or Swinging Richards in Atlanta. This is the Philippines ! There are limitations and one should expect that. Spent as much as I wanted and never more than I could afford !
Amor Powers, the Manager, took good care of me on my 1st night, knowing I had never been there. Introduced me to, possibly, one of the nicest people I've met. Contrary to rumours, or misconceptions, nothing more than conversation was exchanged and it will still be one of the highlights of my trip.
This isn't a dance club or a bar, there are plenty of establishments for that in Manila. This is a Disco Theater with male dancers, on stage. You can argue about the music and/or the choreography, but this is a place to have A Good Time. Nothing More, Nothing Less !
Already planning a return trip to visit family and will, in all likelihood, return to the White Bird.
Thank You Amor And Thank You Dave !

Had a 9-night stay and visited White Bird 4 times, each night being better than the previous visit. Was there during their Mr. White Bird event, the result of which was based more on popularity, but it was still a good night. Amor, again, took excellent care of me, introducing me to Bryan, Jayson having left after my Apr '14 visit. Bryan, you were an officer and a gentleman, making sure my not spending more than necessary ! It was a good time and am already looking forward to my next vacation, and visiting White Bird. Si alguna vez estás en manila, valdría la pena visitar a White Bird.

Fridnley staff that services table and not crazy prices. The food is good for a bar as better then my hotel. Had a group of 5 and all had fun watching the dancers. While music is not upbeat the circus part of the show is very top notch. You have to see as a surprise.

Gay bars in the Philippines. It's really something different from what my western eyes and ears are used too. ;-)

In a bar like 'White Bird' macho dancers try to entertain the audience while moving very slowly. I wouldn't call this exactly dancing, although their name does suggest that. Therefore they choose the most dreadful kinds of music you can imagine. Think of the slowest ballad stuff that Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Glenn Frey, Steelheart, The Cranberries or The Scorpions ever produced, including a bad sound balance.

Moving like a snake and as slow as possible means also few burning of calories. And that's the second problem half of the performers have. They spend hours in front of the mirror to get a south korean haircut. But they forget to eat healthy and to go to the gym. Most of them wouldn't even be allowed to perform in a western gay bar. Luckilly there were a few muscular and lean exceptions.

I will never call again a macho dancer bar, a gay bar. White Bird was full of Japanese, Philipino and South Korean women.
I would even dare to say that the performances by tranny drag queens and hiphop dance crews had much mory body and made our night not entirely boring.

Metro-Manila has a good number of bars but White Bird is one that tops them all. Foreign and local guests would come by any day of the week to catch a good production show unusually seen and experienced in other bars. The bar is very clean, service excellent, very good food offers, gorgeous male models and attentive Floor Managers.

Incomparable indeed!

They forced me to tip everyone there. For example, I went to the restroom 3 times, and I had to tip the restroom attendant 100 PHP every time. Also, the manager, asked for 200php tip.

Was in Manila from May 1-8, visiting a close family friend diagnosed with cancer, and the White Bird was an agreeable and satisfying diversion to an otherwise, wistful visit ?
Amor recognized me upon arrival and, again, welcomed me with open arms. Even after having decided to just watch the evenings presentations, met Mico, who was nothing short of charming, engaging and sweet ! If you are looking for a venue to get your mind off of less pleasant things, the White Bird is the place to go. It is off the beaten path, but well worth the effort, with the entertainment top notch, the drinks reasonable and the company . . . Enjoyable !
Could only visit twice, due to my short stay, BUT having decided to return Sep/Oct 2020, and travelling to Bukidnon, will make up for lost time. Thank You Amor and Mico, it was a pleasure ! !
