Easiest way to a spectacular view
This is a MUST if you´re in Cape Town. The view is EXTRAORDINARY. The ride is very fast up the mountain. The other option is to hike up, but you need more time and good physical condition to climb up. The Cableway is a very short ride to the top. But it´s amazing up there.

    Just do It
We had planned to walk up to the top on a hike but at the last minute decided to take the cableway and it was an excellent choice. There were beautiful views the entire way up and still excellent opportunities for hiking once at the top. There is a little food and drink restaurant at the top as well.

    Wonderful views of Cape Town
Unfortunately the lineup was long and slow. After about an hour in the hot sun we were finally at the front of the line. In no more than 15 minutes we were up on Table Mountain with a great view of Cape Town and the surrounding area. We spent approximately an hour’s time on the top before departing downward. Fortunately for us, the table cloth (clouds) wasn’t covering the top! It was a great view in many directions.

    Great views of Cape Town
This is something that any visit to Cape Town requires. We had no problem buying tickets, and the cable cars go regularly so we didn't have to wait long. The cabins rotate 360 degrees as they go up and down, so everyone gets a good view of the city and surrounding area. When we visited the top was covered by clouds, which got blown away enough so that we could take photos. And we enjoyed buying souvenirs. All in all, our experience was all we expected and more.

Nice ride and good views-can only ride when not windy
Very clean and very safe experience! We were here one day and it was very windy. Did not know we needed to look at the website to see if the cars were running so we asked one of the many people who were standing around and they told us that bc of the high winds the cars would not be running the remainder of the day. Would have been nice to see a sign around about the no cars but o well. We came back the next day after checking their not very informative website and saw things would be working. We hiked up the long way (4.5 hours) bc there is only 1 trail that leads to the cable cars and restaurant, etc., We only took the car down but it was very nice. The ground revolves around so all people get nice views all the way down. A little pricey for the 1 way, 5 min ride down but was worth it.

    Fantastic!
Fantastic day. Lovely warm, sunny day. Don’t be put off by the queues as it goes down quite quickly and is definitely worth it. Earlier you get there the better. No queues to come down. Fantastic views and facilities at the top.

You have to do this at sunset it’s unbelievable
The cable cars are the easiest and quickest way up Table mountain, not to mention safest. We wanted to hike up for sunset and cable car down but we left it too late. There is a pub at the top and the views are just incredible. It’s fab up there and I wished we’d have had more time in Cape Town to do this again! It can be unsafe to hike in the dark make sure you’re in a group or get a guide off air b&b. We got an Uber right to the cable cars and ordered our Uber when we were stood in the queue to come back down after sunset. The last cable car coming down is 7.30 pm

    Good Touristy Experience
The cable car itself is packed and only lasts for 5 minutes. If you're up for it, I would recommend hiking up, I would definitely be hiking instead next tine. However, it's not very shaded so I would avoid doing this in the summer. The views from the top are great!

    Must do
You simply cannot come to Cape Town and not do this! We were really luckily with an amazing sunny day. I wish we had left more time so we could have done the longer walk. The queues go down quickly and you can buy a ticket with card or cash when you get there. very handy it had wifi so we could book an uber back to our hotel.

Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Spectacular Views and Long Lines
My husband and I recently visited Table Mountain Aerial Cableway and while we loved the views from the top, the wait in the sun was a bit of a challenge. We recommend that visitors get there early to avoid the long lines. We could see for miles in every direction and it was a great opportunity to take in the natural beauty of Cape Town. We also enjoyed exploring the top and taking plenty of photos.

Not to be missed, if you are coming to Cape Town and this is not on your list I hope you’re going to add it!
There are a few options for getting to table mountain, for the athletes amongst us you can hike (I didn’t have a death wish and wanted an ice cold Aperol Spritz at the end of the day), the hop on, hop off bus or you can use Uber, we opted for latter. We bought our tickets ahead of our trip (would recommend this as it was quite busy when we went). The cable car was brilliant with 360 degree views on both journeys up and down. At the top of the mountain you’ll find a shop, restaurant oh and some of the best views you’re going to get of Cape Town! With lots of walking routes, you can explore and take in all the sights, we took the MacLears Beacon route which took around an hour and half. Word of advice… take a jacket or jumper while the warm weather might fool you it can get pretty chilly up there!

I can’t imagine going to Cape Town and not going to Table Mountain. We took an Uber to the ticket location and quickly popped in line to purchase tickets. It was a week day and things weren’t super busy, so wasn’t necessary to purchase online. We thought about the vip line but didn’t and were happy with that choice as the line up went fast. About 30 or so people into the cable car at a time and the raised floor of the cable car rotates so that everyone gets a view while traveling up/down. At the top, views are stunning. Opportunity to purchase souvenirs at tourist shops as well as food and drinks. Well worth the time and a wonderful, safe experience.

Table Mountain... trendy for Cape Town. Love the view of the city, the Atlantic. Great cafe and gift shop. But, it's a bit long, and cable cars need more safety. Could use something to hold on, seatbelts. Sunglasses, good value for money. So, you should go there, just one thing that's bad, too, my toddler sister lost pacifier. Like, mountain could be fenced.

World class. A bit of a wait but if you get there early it is fine. If you are scared of heights stand inside the cable car. Views of note!

Being claustrophobic, I was not looking forward to this part of my visit to Table Mountain. However, even though the cable car is crammed full of people, there is a window panel that is open, allowing air in as the cable car rotates. I enjoyed the rotating views, and the journey only lasted a few minutes.
There is interesting flora and fauna at the top of the mountain and walking paths enabling you to get away from the crowds. The views from the top, especially on a sunny day, are magnificent.

Absolutely brilliant day out here, the views are stunning and well worth going up. The cable that spins was interesting for someone that doesn’t like heights but still worth it.

We got an Uber to the cable car 🚠 station. It’s 420zar each return. Very well organised and all staff really friendly. It doesn’t matter where you stand as it rotates. If you don’t like heights you can sit in the middle.

Taking the cable car up to the top of table mountain was awesome! The ride was smooth and the whole platform rotates, so you get to see the view all the way around as you’re going up. Spectacular views from the top of table mountain. Great path it takes you all across the top of the mountain and back and lots of lookouts. Was not too crowded at all. Did not have to wait to get on the cable car even though we had bought our tickets ahead of tome, we could’ve probably bought them on site and been fine. We did go though early in the morning so that may have been better than waiting.

Great experience but only 5 minutes, floor rotates so everyone gets opportunity to get views, issue I had was not a cm between each person, jammed in like sardines, but the views are great and the summit is huge, can spend 5 minutes or 5 hours, Cafe also good and great merchandise
