There is a reason this place is world famous, wow, we spent a good part of a day there and never got to see everything, it’s perfect to have a picnic, the bird life is great and the plants are amazing, highly recommended

This is an absolute national treasure. I was there in Spring this time and it was so colourful, full of birds and insects and smelling lovely. I have been there in other seasons and loved it just as much. You can walk, picnic, sit on benches and learn a lot from the info boards. I would highly recommend waking the canopy. The setting is spectacular next to the mountains. This time I had lunch at Fynbos - delicious but a bit pricey.

So darn beautiful - a must visit while in Cape Town. I recommend having a guide as the garden is vast and it would be easy to get lost and miss things like the canopy walk, the protea garden and the oldest tree in South Africa. We were there a couple of hours and could have easily spent more time wandering the beautiful grounds.

We used the hop on/off bus and came to the botanical gardens which were breathtaking. Walking around the gardens, there are several routes you can take. We were short on time, but you could easily spend hours here taking in the different fauna

Fantastic but we had good weather
The walk across the treetops was amazing, saw the mother hen who was sitting guarding the chicks/eggs and the father looking on from a nearby tree
If visitors don’t want to pay the extra that the locals do to get in,well don’t go

We made a point to visit on Tuesday morning when the local birding group was doing its weekly walk guided by some of the clubs' experts. The flowers and the birds were all lovely. We were intrigued that the many owls could be readily seen resting in trees all day long

Beautiful gardens! Worth a visit, but take some time; it is easy to get lost. We used the map and signage yet still wandered past specific sites of interest we wanted to see. Highly recommend the on-site restaurant; it is a very peaceful setting and the food is amazing.

We visited on a sunny winters day and had a lovely walk around these beautiful gardens, proteas and fynbos were in flower and were a highlight. There is lots to see and we had no difficulty navigating our way round the garden . The large glasshouse is especially interesting .
