Bought VIP tickets to concert. We were lined up in an uncovered area at 9am on the East side of the arena to receive our wristbands. We were not allowed to bring umbrellas into this area. The temperature was in the 90s. There was free water in this area however anytime someone would leave the line to get water they were yelled at by the security guards “stay in line” “do not leave your spot”. We stayed in this area until 1pm when the wristbands were finally handed out. I have a second degree sunburn on my shoulders & arms and yes I was wearing sport sunscreen. We were dehydrated and exhausted from standing in the sun for 4 hours. No one should be treated like this - no reason.

Absolutely aweful. Got seats with zero view of anything and it wasn’t indicated as obstructed view. Worse than that, the usher staff and employees were downright horrible, rude and unprofessional. Have never been treated so poorly at an event.

I sent them this email. I have yet to receive a response.

To Whom It May Concern:

On Saturday August 19th, I Ricky and my fiancé Kat had intentions in enjoying a wonderful date night at the Monster Truck Event at Desert Diamond Arena.

We had tickets in section 108 row T. While going to our section,108, I noticed it was cut off by seats and it would be too dangerous to just over so we decided to sit in row U.

About 15 min during the show 108 staff member “Donnette” requested to see out tickets, as we were in another Patrons seats. Totally understandable. I explained to staff member that I thought it would be dangerous to hop the seat so we just choose to sit here. She then said for us to jump over the seats and as I did, I happened to spilled $33 + Tip in drinks. I explained to Donnette that this was my concern with sitting in those seats. My GF, Kathlyn, requested “hey can we get our drinks replaced due to being told to jump over a seat which was very dangerous.” She responded that “ill could see what she will do.”

So, I’m sitting in my seats, which are now soaked from 2 full drinks spilling while my girlfriend had chose not to hop the seat and just stood behind me, in the isle, as we were afraid of another incident.

Donnette returned with Deb, her supervisor. Deb explained that she would not be able to reimburse us for our drinks that “I could go to where I bought them and that maybe they will reimburse you.” You and I both know that’s a cop out and that I would’ve never had a chance to go to one of your stands, and ask for two free drinks. My girlfriend requested that maybe if she went with me and explain the situation that they would be more inclined to provide us with spilled drinks due to your staff member telling me to do a dangerous act, in which cost me to spill my drinks. Deb reported that she would not help with that. I then requested that if she could assist me by having someone clean this up, where the drink spilled, so that we don’t have an accident, and potentially injure ourselves. She then immediately and unprofessional stated “ if you injure yourself it is not our fault”, my response to her was “actually that if I injure myself on this property it is your fault and I will make sure to mention your name “Deb” I then proceeded back to the concessions to repay for my drinks that I had spilled. Your supervisor frantically chased me down and followed me calling security against me for making the statement that I would use her name. She stated that “you will not mention my name.” “You’re not mentioning my name.” Then she proceeded to follow me to the concessions radioing security, every section that I walk past. While I was just simply going to replace my drinks. Keep in mind, I was calm, respectful, and not causing a seen by any means during this whole duration of your supervisor harassing me while trying to enjoy a date night with my girlfriend at your establishment.

Deb continued to follow me requesting security as a pass every section. I then decided to just wait for Security to arrive in hopes that they would understand that I am a not intoxicated, that I am being extremely calm and respectful, and that I have been mistreated by their staff.

The security that I spoke with was Doug and Justin. There was also a handful of security and police officers off to the side, waiting to jump in in the event that the conflict became worse. They stayed off to the side as I was obviously was not causing a scene or doing anything besides trying to replace my drinks.

Doug (security) took my story, he heard me out, then went to speak with Deb. Justin and I just talked while Doug was speaking to Deb. Doug then came back to me and reported that there’s nothing he can do. That they will not replace my drinks. That he suggest that I “just go back to my seats and not let us go on and ruin my night, which was a threat by your security member “Doug." Deb had already ruined my night at this point. I had already missed an hour of the event, due to Deb harassing me and unnecessary involving security. He then came back to me and stated “ I have to take her side because I work with her and she’s a supervisor.” That is just embarrassing that this is how your arena operates. I then requested if they would at least clean up the area where the spill was. Justin (Security) ask what section and area and reported that he would have someone clean it up.

As a Vice President and owner of a behavioral health organization. I train staff to treat my clients with respect, but most importantly to de-escalate, not escalate situations. Deb, obviously could use some training and learn that we are customers. I was never rude, or raised my voice to her. I simply requested a compensation for my drink, and to have somebody clean up the spill, so that no one would get injured. I was extremely respectful. I just wanted to enjoy a date night with my girlfriend, which was ruined by your supervisor “Deb” who is obviously untrained, uneducated and does not know how to De-escalate situation’s. Only make them worse.

I understand that it is hard it is to find a good help these days. I’m not writing this so that Deb gets fired. Unless she has had other incidents in the past, in which you may want to write her up and consider a demotion or termination. My only request is that you do write up this incident report and bring this up to her and please train her and your staff to treat your customers with respect and to not escalate situations. We pay good money to come to your arena to have a good time. We should not be treated as I was treated last evening. This night could’ve gone completely different. I could’ve fell. I could’ve been seriously injured and Desert Diamond Arena would have been liable. Then you would have received a more formal response from my business partner and attorney Tom. Thankfully, no one was injured. The only injury was the loss of over priced drinks, the loss of me being able to enjoy a good date night with my girlfriend and enjoy myself at your arena.

I would appreciate an investigation and take this as a matter of an incident report of what happened.

I would also appreciate if anything can be compensated for ruining half if not most of the show that we paid for. This can be reimbursed through payment or we would gladly except tickets to another event that we may be able to attend. However, more importantly, I would just appreciate if you could educate your staff, especially supervisors as somebody could get seriously injured, and your arena will be liable.

My contact information is below, please feel free to reach out to me via email or call. I do expect a response from this and will follow up if I do not hear back. The way I was treated last night was completely unacceptable. I will attach the pictures of row that I was requested to hop over so you can see where my seats were and how dangerous it was for me to climb over. That these were the seats I was told to climb over, by your staff. In the event that you choose to reimburse me for missing the show. I had also spent $90 on beverages. In which 35 $ was spilled.

PS - no one ever arrive to clean up the spill which is another embarrassment on the training of your staff and your liability.

Section 108 / row T, this is a picture from the aisle four the section 108 this is the seats that your staff told me to climb over.

I included a picture of the seat I was asked to climb over.

Had front row end seats to The Cure. Security didn’t do crap the whole time when all the drunk people came and pushed me and my family out of the way throughout the entire concert. I even had some drunk girl stick her hand on my face when I asked her to please get out of our seats. Security eventually escorted her out, but it took them forever. Every time I went to use the bathroom or get a drink, I came back and our seats were taken. We had to fight off the people ourselves to get them back. Even then it didn’t matter because new self-entitled people would come and shove us out of the way again. A few different people came and actually moved our belongings from our seats to sit in them while we were standing. It got to a point where we just left because it was just too frustrating and getting too aggressive to have any fun. Apparently, the security people they hire are just people that want a way to see the concert for free AND get paid for it. They don’t actually want to do any work. Total waste of money on what I hear was a great concert. Would never go back here to see a concert.

The actual arena is fine...but the SEATING is awful. Those were the SMALLEST seats I've ever sat in. I'm 6' and not fat and I BARELY fit in them. Unfortunately for us a 350 lb person sat next to us and spilled over into my seat so I literally had to lean into the seat next to me. I don't usually write reviews, but this is RIDICULOUS. For this reason alone, I will not go back to Desert Diamond

Attended a concert for the first time since this became Desert Diamond Arena and name change must mean nothing or let's make it worst. First off parking you pay for parking but the employees just standing there not doing anything to help traffic flow, signage was confusing. Employees need to at least do their job. Bag policy is different than all the others. Employee outside was short with people & not very helpful. Bag policy should be the same as all the other event places. No ushers to help find seats & if you have not been here before it helps to have people to ask. Womens restrooms were not stocked with toilet paper if the doors open at 6:30pm why is there not paper in half of the stalls by 7pm. Sound system was not the best most of the concert you could not understand what was being sung. Sound was bad before but now worse. The jumbo Tron could be used as screens but nope the tiny screens where being used & not in a good way. Just when you thought the City of Glendale could not care about this arena, they make it worse. Desert Diamond should be ashamed to have their name on the building.

Took my daughter to her first concert here to see Billie Eillish. Parking wasn't too bad, but we got there early. Plenty of places to hang around and eat/drink while waiting to get in. Once we got in the doors, it was pretty easy to get around. Not the greatest food vendors/concessions, but decent. Good seats for the show as there really weren't many "bad seats" by the way the concert was set up. Pain in the butt to get out unless you are in the first group to leave.

For my first time I watched a Coyotes vs Penguins game in Phoenix. The fact that a Phoenix Nationals team can’t get Phoenix support from Phoenix fans IN PHOENIX blew my mind. They were all Penguins fans. I was embarrassed for Arizona, that some mindless cult phenomenon for a state they’ve never been to, took precedent over state pride and common sense. Shame on you. I will never endure another Coyote game with so many traitors.

The rink itself is one of the best I've been in. Not a bad seat honestly, could be a great hockey atmosphere if people actually showed up. Upper deck was very cold, really could have brought another jacket with the air conditioning blowing straight on you, and the prices for food or drinks are astronomical. It's really a shame that the Coyote's can't make this work.

We were in town for the weekend and had planned on attending a hockey game since our Golden Knights were playing. The facility is in a good location for visitors staying at nearby hotels and walking to the arena. Not super huge crowds either.

However, you get a big one star for the policy about no purses/handbags. I think it is sexist at its worst and I was shocked and disappointed that I could not bring my bag with such trivial incidentals such as my wallet with ID, hairbrush, cell phone, glasses, etc. Really? I do not have a problem with any venue/arena running my purse through a metal detector or looking inside, but to ban the purse policy to only a smallish wallet size. Only one one pocket if I had wanted to use it for placement of my personal items.

And that brings me to the outlandish policy about wearing a mask. Some employees wore a mask, most didn't and I only saw about 10 fans wearing one. Utterly the worst of the worst enforcement. Wake up Arizona, it's NOT over!

Music was way too annoying and loud. The venue is decent and seats were great!
