The waterfalls through this canyon are something else. brides veil, horse tail and all the other “smaller ones” are beautiful. Its amazing you can be so close to them.

These are very large and beautiful falls close to Valdez (approx 14 miles) and right next to the highway with easy pull outs in Thompson pass. In june there was a lot of water from snow melt and rain pouring over the falls.

The highlight of driving to Valdez is gong though Keystone Canyon. There are waterfalls every where you look. Be sure to stop and check them out and get pictures. Take you time driving this road.

We go to Valdez every year. Stopping to see the waterfalls never gets old. The 1899 pack trail is a great hike too, goes all the way to the top of Horsetail Falls

I loved the scenic route and enjoyed the way. Be mindful that the whole drive is less than 30 minutes, but we stopped and took the pictures.

A must stop and photo op on the trip into Valdez. Creation of the road into Valdez was a significant engineering achievement.

Drove through Keystone Canyon from Chitna to Valdez. It was awesome to drive through, and we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe falls. Great views to stop on the side and take in the view.
