A display of natural history, fauna, immigration, pioneers, town development, & some info on Flight, understandably. An easy hour getting absorbed in the depth of info presented in an engaging way. Well done to the Museum's team.

The South Canterbury Museum gives visitors an excellent background introduction to the history and development of a wide area of the South Island. This helps one to better appreciate the features of the area which one sees on travelling through on a touring trip.

This museum is a must to go to - it was well set out, had fabulous displays, including a plane hanging from the roof. Congratulations for a great effort. Would certainly recommend.
