Me and my husband came across this walk in the lonely planet. Need about 1-2 hours to have a nice stroll up. Some of the inclines make you feel like you are working but not bad at all. The views make everything worth it. You...More

The weather was ideal for a walk. Not too cold. It had been wet but the track was not too muddy. The first 15 minutes or so is quite a challenge as it is quite an incline but persevere as it is worth the effort....More

As I write I can still three weeks later visualise the view from the boardwalk looking out towards snow-capped mountains - NZ scenery at its best. The falls were pretty good too as were the trees, the river bed, and the streams. There were some...More

We went on a day that was raining, but that didn’t dampen the experience. The walk through the forest is beautiful, and so green! You pass a couple other waterfalls and rapids on the walk; it is a great way to spend a few hours.

Great and well maintained track. Wish the weather was better but even in rainy and wet conditions it is still worth visiting.

Easy walk, few steep steps but path all the way. Boardwalk across marshy area. About hour in total, there and back.

Nice walk. Pretty easy from carpark to falls. We didn't have kids with us, but should be easy for 5yo and above. We went past the Falls all the way to Blyth Hut. Good workout but not the most spectacular scenery in the area.

Excellent surface, lots of steps. Lovely bush, saw quite a bit of birdlife, especially titipounamu (rifleman). Part of it is a boardwalk with beautiful views of the mountain if the day is fine. The waterfall itself is very picturesque. Took just over an hour return.

Very attractive short walk (1 h 30 mins inc return) though bush and alpine bog areas and culminating at a small waterfall. Of special interest is the boardwalk across the bog and pond area. Sit quietly at the rest point and listen to the frogs...More

Have done this walk multiple times and is great. A lot of stairs towards the waterfall and a lovely board walk with great Mount Ruapehu views.
