A lovely, small square to visit when in Avila. Just walk around in this village to explore and see some beautiful places.

I am not certain exactly what days they hold a market but it would be a great place to buy food for a picnic. Then, I would recommend walking to the "Four Post" area to enjoy your lunch. The plaza is much like any other...More

Remarkable experience to visit Avila. Lots of open space and almost no tourist. It is just relaxing. Love the plaza and a chance for an outdoor coffee in February in 18 degrees. You should try this.

This is something akin to the plaza mayor in Madrid or the plaza of Salamanca but on a smaller scale. It is pretty at night, but needs more restaurants to bring it alive. Many of the restaurants are just off of the plaza.

In comparison to Salamanca or Madrid a bit ordinary. Still several bars, restaurants and shops. Surrounding streets cute as well.

We were in Avila for the day and it was a Friday. Came down from the walls part of the way round and walked into the town. It was very busy in the streets. We came eventually to Plaza Mayor. It was market day and...More
