We have visited the Center previously and enjoyed the shop. However, this was our first opportunity to view the documentary on Palmer 's history. It was at least an hour in length and VERY informative. The tv is not too big, and the bench one...More

I enjoyed strolling through the gardens attached to this center. They have displays about the huge vegetables that have been grown in that area. Alaska's State Fair is held here, too.

The film was very interesting, I wish we would have seen the whole thing. The gardens are also so beautiful and the girl working was very informative. Great free activity.

Visit here first on your arrival in Palmer. The center has a small, yet informative museum noting its history back to the "colonial" period of the 1930-40s. Take time to view the video that describes this period with first hand accounts. The staff is helpful...More

Interesting to learn of the government social experiment to populate this region. Fortitude of pioneers in spite of Gov boondoggle. History is amazing!!

Small place in Palmer but decorated well with friendly staff. They had a few exhibits with detailed information. Well worth a short stop.

Nice visitor center with interesting exhibits but the gardens are what it's about. If you're short on time just stop and take a quick look at the garden.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Palmer Visitor Information Center. The building itself is very attractive and the grounds outside, including the garden, are fun to explore. The shop has a very interesting gift selection and some fine exhibits about Palmer's history.

The visitors center is small. The staff is helpful. I found the information, video and displays about the Colony experiment to get more people into Alaska. It was essentially a failed experiment that introduced farming into that area. It was successful at getting an injection...More

The garden area is open to everyone, but I do not know if they do organized tours of it.

The cosmetology industry is great! It's not my field but I know many places are hard to get into because everyone is so busy. I don't think you'd have to worry about finding work.

Probably not in downtown Palmer (small town), but people who live all around the outskirts of Palmer do just that. One of our boarders has friends just 15 minutes from here (up the Glenn Highway) does and supplies us with... More
