I would encourage people to walk the trail the views are gorgeous and we were able to get some great pictures. The visitor center is nice, but you just can't get the true feel of the area without venturing out.

Just walk 5 min uphill from the Juneau International Hostel & you'll find the start of the trail. The hike itself (10 or 11km?) is very scenic and the view at the top across the Channel is very worthwhile. Don't forget your water bottle.

Bought the tickets before or would not have bothered with the long wait. The tram is crowded and it is really disappointing when you get up there, you then have a long queue to get down, save your money and spend more time at the...More
