Oh My!!!!!!!!! What a day!!!!!! Trent was wonderful! The BEARS were FABULOUS! Trent knew exactly where to take us and still feel safe!

All I can say is WOW! We arrived at the office early in the morning to meet our pilot. Boarded the float plane and took off for Katmai! The scenery was amazing we got to see volcanos and beautiful scenery along the way. Bears were on the beach where we landed and The falls did not disappoint! we would highly recommend Adventure Airways for your trip!

My husband and I went on they trip for bear viewing trip at Brooks Falls. It was the trip of a lifetime. We flew with Trent in his Beaver on floats and had a great trip over. Trent is an excellent pilot and we always felt very safe and confident in his flying. Once we got to Brooks Lodge we were on the ground for 3 hours. It was an awesome trip and experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to view these amazing animals!

The staff were great and kept us safe. We rescheduled due to bad weather. The flight over and back was smooth but three people in the middle bench seat on a Beaver is really cramped.
My only complaint is timing. Our 2:30 flight left the dock on time and beached about 4:15. We were instructed to be back at the plane by 7:00 for a 7:15 departure. That sounds reasonable but…
Then we had to go to the visitor center for “bear school” and didn’t get out of there until 5:00. We were told there was a two hour wait for the main platform earlier in the day but now it should be less than an hour and they give you a buzzer so you know when it is your turn. Now I’m getting nervous. Then you walk a mile to get to the platforms. HOORAY…no wait. So we had about an hour in the platform jostling for a good spot and then it was time to return. It was all very rushed.
There are other companies that stay five hours.
This was $1000 for one hour viewing bears with no wait time getting on the ma8n platform.

Superlative! We were originally scheduled to go to Katmai but the fog prevented us from flying there and being able to safely depart. So Adventure Airways happily refunded us our $ but then suggested an alternative trip to Lake Clark National Park. We took that trip, and it turned out better than the one we originally wanted. The flight was short and well executed. Once we arrived, we saw at least six bears, including a mother and her three cubs frolicking on a beach, all from the comfort of a private and well-outfitted pontoon boat. We saw a juvenile bald eagle and multiple other birds. And of course, many salmon. Our guide Jessica Gable (based in Readout Mountain Lodge) was great too. Very informative and accommodating. For lunch they served us fresh cought sockeye salmon (which was amazing), rice and salad. Though they did check whether we had any dietary restrictions in advance. Would 100% recommend to anyone, especially families with kids who may complain about hiking long distances but still want to see bears.

Unbelievable! Add this to your bucket list! We put ourselves in Trent’s hands, and were not disappointed. The absolute highlight of our entire 2-week trip to Alaska. When the weather didn’t cooperate for Plan A to Katmai, Trent proposed & we agreed to Plan B, Crescent Lake. This tiny portion of Lake Clarke NP gave us captivating & up close (20-30 yards on a pontoon boat) views of bears fishing & eating salmon. The highlight was a family of 4 brown bears, mother & triplet 2-year old bears. We saw them swimming, playing, growling over salmon, climbing into empty boats, and generally at home on the shore. We learned a great deal about the location, salmon, brown bears, and living in the moment. All in a setting that can only be described as heavenly: turquoise water, lush green forests, snow-topped mountain (Redoubt), sockeye salmon slowly coming to their life’s end after spawning, brown bears actively in & out of the water, a juevenile bald eagle perched & watchful. A stunning show of nature & the right time to visit the right place. Do not hesitate! Book this now!

The flight and the bear viewing tour is amazing. Must do if you are in Homer. Our pilot, Trent, was great and made the flight very pleasant. Highly recommend

Why is Adventure Airways so much more expensive than Steller Air?

I did not price Steller Air so I can’t compare. Does Steller Air go to the Katmai Preserve? Not all
bear-watching trips go there. You definitely want to see the bears catching salmon at Brook Falls in the Katmai Preserve.
