The view from the roundhouse is amazing. The souvenirs are very typical (nothing special). Some artifacts and info make it an interesting stop.

This is a very small gift store and museum that I would not consider to be a destination. There is interesting information about the area, avalanches and ski team. There is a looping video please on a couple of small tv screens and a diarama...More

After riding the tram to the top and having lunch, we walked over to the Roundhouse gift shop. As the name implies, it was round, with glass all around surrounded by an outdoor viewing deck for great views and photos. We purchased a few gifts...More

This is the only mount museum in the state, and although small, it is really done well, and makes for a perfect place to gain a bit of insight into the history of the Valley, and community of Girdwood, Alaska. The staff are extremely helpful...More

A bit pricey on the merchandise, but considering where it's at, it makes it worthwhile. Great little history lesson within.

There are some interesting displays here. I liked reading about how Alyeska became a ski resort. Also seeing the original skis and uniforms was cool because of how far we have come. The gift shop has a good selection too.

If you are taking the tram up, spend a few extra minutes to go through this museum. The views are great and they have some interesting exhibits. There is some unique shopping here as well.

Walk along the outdoor deck to get into the cozy, 360 degree roundhouse shop. It IS primarily a gift shop, but has some solid displays of items used in the area for various winter sports. I enjoyed the history of the place and the photos...More

I was there in May. At that time, it closed at 5pm. Perhaps it extends the hours in the summer. Enjoy your trip!
