Black Rock beach is historically and culturally important to the people of Rarotonga. Facing north-west, and receiving all day sun, the lagoon area is a popular aqua-playground. The prominent black rocks serve as diving platforms into the rock pools below. Black Rock is also the home of Rarotonga's only golf course, as well as the tennis centre and beach volleyball courts.

Black Rock beach is an ideal place to watch sunset. I saw some local people drove bikes and sit back and relaxed while watching the sunset. I did the same thing as well. Black rock provides good atmosphere for thematic photos as well.

It is a beautiful and peaceful part of Rarotonga. The water there is fairly calm and shallow it is a good spot to practice snorkeling if you are a beginner - you won't see big fish though. On low tide you can walk out to...More

What a great spot to watch sunset. It's a longish stretch of beach. We didn't swim there but others were until after the sun set. A great spot to end a day in paradise!

Some pretty fish but mainly go to climb and look over the lava rocks. see photos attached. Enjoyed this beach and some snorkeling a short walk away from the main rock.

One of our favourite snorkelling spots on our trip. Lots of fish to see close to shore. Good spot to take kids as well i'd say.

Lovely place to lie back and soak up the sun reading a book and when you feel the need just jump up and into the lagoon. Snorkelling around you will discover lots of sea life.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The locals hang out here talking, relaxing, and impressing their friends by jumping off the rocks into a beautiful pool. You can hang out too.
