Crowded, but lovely!

Walk just a few minutes from the town centre (actually it's so small that 'town' should be 'village'?!) The views are to die for. A white tropical beach with palms and tropical flowers, untouched and completely natural looking out to the Pacific Ocean. It's a...More

Very nice and relaxing beach. Walking distance to many food establishments and small motels, hostels and cabinas. Right in the center of town.

Love this little beach town and of course the beach itself. Great waves to play in, beautiful sand. The little town has some great little restaurants to eat in. One of my favorite little beach towns in the Nicoya Peninsula

The waves are glorious here. Catch them at mid tide or low tide for the best experience. A bit rocky in spots but you'll see where everyone is swimming and playing in the water. Take a snack with you and make your visit into a...More

My boyfriend and I spent time and enjoyed this beach more than we thought we would. It has great swimming and does not feel overly crowded for a beach in the center of all of the action. Easy parking and go to Chicos for a...More

This place wasn’t for us. There are a couple of small beach spots here, which were pretty to look at. However, one of them had a small river(?) (looked more like a sewage system that emptied out to the ocean) that looked quite stagnant —...More

The beach is as advertised - long stretches with great waves. There's plenty of space to spread out and find your own little patch. You might have to walk a bit but you can definitely find your own area. The waves were great - not...More

This beach is located in the middle of a national park. There will be a lot of "guides" trying to make you pay them to walk you around and show you the wildlife. We passed on this, and still saw lots of monkeys, raccoons, and...More

This is a small spot of sand next to the busstation. Sand and water is ok, but this is no real place for swimming. Go to the other side of town (takes 5 min) and you have a nice beach though water is a bit...More

We walked on a hot morning across Playa Montezuma and several other beaches to the north all the way to a waterfall. The trail winded back and forth from the beach to jungle trails. The jungle portion provided relief from the hot sun...very scenic trail!
