- RednotTanManchester, United Kingdom113 contributionsSimply brilliant! This was the highlight of our fortnight in Costa Rica. Christian is a fantastic guide who clearly loves spiders, insects and other wildlife (frogs, birds, bats, snakes, crabs) and has a really infectious enthusiasm and great knowledge. He also delights in making sure that his customers get what they want from the tour, whether it is great photos, the chance to touch and hold insects or simply reassure those who are more wary of our many-legged friends. My wife was very reluctant to go on the walk, but loved it. A couple of young children in our group were also initially worried, but ended up eagerly spotting tiny scorpions and other interesting things for Chris to explain to us. Brilliant!Visited February 2023Written March 14, 2023

It’s clear that this is a passion for Chris, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. This was one of our favorite experiences. You must take this tour when visiting Cahuita!Visited March 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 17, 2023

Chris was so informative and passionate about the wildlife and ecosystems of the local and wider area. He showed us sooooo many tarantulas, scorpions, frogs, snakes and lots of bugs. - Matthias P1 contributionAmazing „Tarantulas Way“ tourWe can recommend the night tour „Tarantulas Way“ with Christian for 101%. The tour was amazing. We saw spider‘s (many tarantulas), frogs, bugs and a 5 different species of snakes. Christian has a lot of knowledge about this animals and he shared this knowledge with us. Our tour was 3h long and like I said, really amazing. If you‘re in Cahuita, you should put this tour on your „to do list“! @Christian keep going and all the best for the futureVisited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 13, 2023

He told us interesting facts about the plants and the animals and more important he showed us the animals like tarantulas, spiders, iguanas, an owl, a slot and several snakes. He connected with our sons right away and was able to provide a great setting to explore this beautiful part of the world while sharing his enthusiasm for each little detail along the way. - FridaHamburg, Germany3 contributionsThis is THE one tour you have to take. This an amazing and unique once-in-a-lifetime experience. We actually did this tour twice because we were so amazed the first time. The second time also didn’t fail to surprise. Chris is an outstanding guide and really knows what he’s doing. I have hardly ever met someone with such an outstanding knowledge of spiders, reptiles and amphibians. We learned tons of new stuff, saw animals we hardly knew existed and had a fantastic time. I want to emphasise that we tend to find tours like these very stressful because it’s usually too much people and not enough time. Not with Chris tough. We were only 6 people altogether for the first and 4 people for the second tour. There was no hurry at all, everyone could take as much time as they needed to admire, ask questions and admire nature’s beauty. We never felt rushed. On these 3 hour long tours Chris never hesitated to answer any questions, even if there were dozens. His knowledge about wildlife is beyond comprehension. He will spot animals in distances that will have you wonder wether he was some sort of magician. He’s is also very helpful with taking photos in case you want to impress your Instagram followers. 😉 If you ever take a tour in Costa Rica, choose this one. It will change your view on the nature surrounding you tremendously. And you won’t see a single one of those animals on your own. Thanks a lot! We saw caimans, opposums, bats, iguanas, snakes, scorpions and of course A LOT of tarantulas. He is a great guide and has plenty of knowledge and patience. BE AWARE: This is an encounter with actual wildlife. Some of these snakes, scorpions and spiders are venomous or can at least cause painful bites/stings. Dress appropriately and tread carefully. Also, bring a good torch!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 13, 2023

This tour was the best! Our 11 year old loves bugs and lizards so we booked this walk. Chris was amazing! His love and excitement for the jungle creatures is contagious! He included our kids in the walk and they had a great time! We talked about this tour so much our friends just booked a trip to Cahuita in the hopes of seeing the creatures we did during our trip, even though they were in Costa Rica in April also. But they were on the west coast. Thanks for the great walk Chris!

A night walk exploring the wildlife in Cahuita is aist for anyone visiting and you could not hope to have a better or more knowledgeable guide than Chris. The walk was truly amazing. I finished the evening with 21 different species of insects, spiders, frogs snakes, and geckos which Chris helped to take . Chris also describes the different plants along the way. I will remember this tour for a long time.

A wonderful experience exploring the animal & insect nightlife in Cahuita. We were thrilled to meet Chris and have such a knowledgeable guide on this 2+ hour hike. Unbelievable the number of spiders, snakes, beetles, and tarantulas we saw. Highly recommend.

For me it’s the best night walk in Costa Rica. You will see many exciting things and can learn a lot about the nature and wildlife in Costa Rica. It is pretty different to all the cute baby-sloths you can see during the day, but it is definitely worth getting to know all the night creatures of Costa Rica as well. The glowing spiders and scorpions are just spectacular!
The group size is very small. Chris is very patient and has a big knowledge. He is very enthusiastic, sometimes he seems to be more excited and happier about the animals you see than the guests 😊.
You have all the time you need to take pictures and look around.
I recommend this tour very much.

Christian has an exceptional eye for all of the things hidden in the jungle. His ability to spot the tiniest creatures camouflaged within the fauna is absolutely remarkable. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Christian was so very kind, patient, and he encouraged us to get close to the creatures for pictures. This isn’t just a night hike; Christian makes this into an unforgettable hands-on experience and we are so incredibly grateful for him sharing his passion, love, and enthusiasm for all things wild.

I'm scared of spiders but find them fascinating. I'd love to go on this tour but am worried it may freak me out. Are the spiders literally under your feet or a safe (albeit close) distance?

Combination. Most at a distance and going right back down there hole, but we did come across some very large hunting spiders. I'm also very frightened, however Christian is very informative and my fear is now far less. It was a very interesting tour. You will see many, many large spiders. We saw at least 15.

I see quite a few people say about being able to hold/ touch the animals, is this ok to do as I enjoy seeing animals in their natural environment and don’t want it to be of harm to them?

Chris is very good at handling animals, insects, etc. We did hold a frog, he also had a snake wrap around a stick. I would but generally bother the animals, but considering that he is familiar with their behaviors we were comfortable with it. I did not feel as if any of the animals were harmed.
