Although I am not a surfer, I was able to watch some surfers catching great waves. Along the beach there is places to rent kayaks and surfboards. They provide surfing lessons as well.

I love this beach, the waters are warm, shallow and family friendly. There are several beachfront restaurants and many water activities. Not too touristy with a local feel. The roads are paved and an easy drive. The Samara Info Center was very helpful too.

We thoroughly enjoyed a week at Playa Samara with our 9 year old in July/August. It is a great uncrowded beach to swim, jump waves, learn how to surf, build sandcastles, and relax. There is an abundance of places to eat and drink as well!
