We were grateful to find this church not too far from our hotel in Guanacaste. Took a water taxi to Playa del Coco. Went to mass then spent a bit of time in the town. Mass is at 11:00 Sunday

My friends and I were walking towards the beach on right side of the street when I saw this. This is a small church and simple decoration but it has charm. You can even light a candle in their altar for a fee.

This is an adorable church but there is no Saturday Vigil Mass so we went to San Antonio de Paduga where the vigil is at 7 pm.

Love going to this wonderful Catholic church.
The mass time on Sunday now starts at 11
sharp not 10!!
Be sure to be there 10 to 15 minutes before 11 as it gets filled up to standing room.
The mass is mostly in Spanish but new priest had made a real effort to say some of the mass in English!

Mass is in Spanish and begins on the dot of 10:00 so you want to be there at least 10 minutes early to maybe snag a seat. Try to find one close to the side for ventilation because it is hot even with the fans running. We found that there were more tourists than locals, but that changed at Easter at the beginning of April when most long-stay tourists have left. The services had a great music ministry and mass was over in 45 minutes.

Can get hot inside so recommend back of Church for services. Parking in area sufficient and sufficient room during services. Supported by visiting priest, so service times limited.

The only mass is on Sunday at 10 a.m. and it is full. It is in Spanish but everyone makes you feel welcome especially the priest. You do not have to pay the parking guy outside but if you do 100, 200 or 500 Colones is more than enough

The 10:00 mass had a full house! People were sitting shoulder to shoulder. We didn't understand much of the service, but it provided a time with God to thank Him for all our blessings. There were people of all ages. The music was happy and was easy to hum along. It is the first church that we saw a dog attend the service. We will attend in the future if we come back to Coco.

I love to tour churches. Iglesia Catolica is about a block off of the main street. As Catholic Churches go, it is very simple in it's design but it has a beauty to it.
We stopped on a weekday and it was open. We admired the altar and saints. Said a quick prayer, made a donation and left. We were there about 10 minutes. It's a quiet rest stop from the vacation.

Only one mass on Sunday at 10 AM. We walked from our condo at the end of town on a hot humid day. No air conditioning in church and no English is spoken but all the natives are friendly. We plan n going again tomorrow.

Does the church use volunteer workers in any way. Both wife and I have volunteered through church in other countries.

You know....I can't really answer that. We only went to one service and they seemed to have several servers choir members and EMHC. Sorry
