- Amy MSan Diego, California45 contributionsBeautiful and peaceful beachWe love to spend a day at Playa Conchal when visiting either Tamarindo or Playa Grande. The beach is beautiful and on a nice peaceful bay. Towards the end of the beach are some rocks that the kids have fun snorkeling around if it’s not windy . Many times there are locals who will rent easy ups and chairs for the day, which is really nice since it’s a bit of a walk from either end to have to carry chairs and umbrellas . There is always food and drinks being sold - really good blended drinks with fresh fruit (with or without alcohol). On our most recent visit we rented jet skis for a couple hours and it was a great place for the kids to ride around. We parked in Brasilitos in a pay lot and then walked over.Visited November 2022Traveled with familyWritten February 5, 2023
- Jan HCovington, Washington7 contributionsVisit to Playa ConchalThe best time to visit/walk the beach is sunrise. Beach is empty and beautiful at this time. Shells are on the northern end of beach and as you walk south turns to clean sand with a few shells. Rember take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but foot prints. We stayed near Playa Brasilito and walked to Paya Conchal. During the day there is a steady stream of visitors heading south to Playa Conchal.Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 7, 2023

- Tim A1 contributionBest Beach MassageThis is a big shout out to Kaylee, Jose, and Sara who provided the best beach massages we’ve ever had at a beach resort. They are friendly, non-persistent, and respectful of “no thank you”. That and the fact that they keep their beach area tidy is what attracted us to them in the first place. If you pop by, give them a pura vida from Tim (Tin) and Wendy. I will reserve my full review of the Westin Reserva Conchal for the end of my stay, however, let me say that for the past 12 days, they have exceeded our expectations.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 21, 2023

We just got back from a spectacular week at the Westin Playa and here is my review with some insider tips and shoutouts to the friendliest most amazing staff.
The food was fantastic for an all inclusive! I am foodie and I enjoyed every meal. You can start your day at Mitra Market which opens for breakfast 6:30. First pro tip (bring a travel cup and get there at 6 for mimosa’s and or Bloody Mary’s which you can take to the pool). Ask for Rachel! She was the absolute best, always smiling and such an asset to this resort. I missed her this morning.
Room service is also great. Order anytime of day with various menus. Get the chicken soup! Gabriel deserves a shout out here. Food comes within 20 minutes and he does a great job.
In our opinion the other restaurants from best to very good were
Manglar, Bamboo, La Sabana and Spirula. For lunch you have many options and all are good with Mitra being the best. Pro tip (get a box to go at Mitra and eat at the pool if you don’t want to sit down).
All the fun starts at 10 when the pool bar opens and the activities begin.
I ran a 5k and did a bike tour with Eduardo who is the best instructor ever. Ask for him to guide you on tours or for personal training. He along with Ruudy lead the aqua fit class at 11 each day. So much fun and a great workout.
Ruudy led a tour of the Iguana trail to a spectacular lookout view. Wear sneakers and bring water!
The bartenders at the pool are awesome. We loved the energy of Enrique, Christopher, Christian and Holly. Thanks for making us awesome drinks all week. Pro tip - get a float for stronger drinks.
There is so much to do during the rest of the day. Sit on the beach, kayak, snorkel, ping pong, pool, foosball.
Toward the end of the day check out Marvell in the lobby bar and Andres at Bar Imperial. Both guys are fantastic.
Erik on the beach was very helpful booking a waterfall, volcano tour for the ladies. Go Fish Costa Rica was also amazing to book with for deep sea fishing. Play the golf course if you can. Luis there is great! Sorry for the long post but I could go on and on. The night ends at Bar Imperial with some sports and a DJ.
If you are looking for a crazy party place or want multiple late night entertainment options this is probably not for you but it truly is a special place! Pura Vida!

One of the many underrated beaches in Costa Rica's Pacific coast. The Playa Conchal is in the Guanacaste province and is family oriented and does not seem to lose its charm even in August. The locals who are there to ply their trades and services are always very kind and helpful. I would go back in heartbeat.

We had THE best massage EVER from Lady in front of the Westin at Playa Conchal. Better than any massages I had in the past in Canada. Very generous and very nice woman. MUST DO. The whole family had a massage!

We had to check out the beach that’s a beach of shells and it was neat. Glad we went and saw it and spent some time there. From where we parked it was a 2 mile walk round trip, a good hot exercise and swam along the way. The current was a bit strong when the waves crashed.
The beach was filled with people trying to get you to buy things, which is annoying but just life. Definitely worth checking out, never have I ever been on a beach of millions of little shells. Now I have.

Hello amigo. We can help you with pleasure. Please contact Conchalfun.

we will be staying there 2 weeks. Where can we buy food to cook ourselves. Are there any markets there? Where is the nearest market? Will the shuttle take you to town? Tanarindo?

There are supermarkets in Brasalito (10 minutes), Tamarrindo (30 minutes) and right down the street from the Reserve Conchal, ask at the check in they are very helpful. I've never stayed in these Condos, but there is a shuttle service you could most likely use at the Westin, for Tamarrindo.

Yes. We went there after Tamarindo. We parked by Brasilitos and walked in.

I will be driving to Playa Conchal from Coco Beach, for a day trip. Is beach access and parking difficult to find. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You’ll need to park at Playa Brasilito (one beach down from Conchal) - there’s parking restaurants and shops there- you’ll then need to traverse Playa Brasilito to get to Playa Conchal - 2 very different beaches. If you’re there in high season plan to get there early, it’s one of the more crowded beaches.

I don't know if this is the very cheapest, but we have been using Rainer Lopez and Pininos Adventures for many years for transportation and to arrange tours and activities. Not only do they provide reliable and reasonable rates, but can provide a wealth of information and great recommendations.

Hoy en día, 24 de agosto de 2018, se puede ingresar en automóvil hasta playa Conchal?
carpiocr
San Jose, Costa Rica29 contributions
