The area is beautiful, the estate is well maintained, the food was fine although nothing spectacular (there's 2 stars). The problems are in the complete abandonment of certain aspects. Namely: 1. There is a butterfly garden with probably no more than 10 live butterflies (we saw more butterflies outside than inside). There is absolutely nobody inside to provide guidance, answer questions, help identify the insects, nothing. The area where chrysalis are was seemingly forgotten, with clearly dead pupae inside. None of the host plants are labeled so you have no idea what you're looking at. Then there is the botanic/bonsai garden which yeah it does have bonsai, but it was put together with the least regard for labeling anything. How many years old is that bonsai right there? Who knows! There is also a vegetable garden, also unlabeled and with some very sorry looking plants. That too had nobody around to explain a thing. The few people working there mostly ignored tourists and were not very helpful.
The sad thing is that the place has a lot of potential, but it's very badly managed. We were there on a Sunday at around lunch, weather was nice and it was packed with other tourists so there's no excuse.
