Great tour with our fantastic and knowledgeable guide Alex. We saw 6 sloths and 2 varieties of sloths, strawberry blue jean frogs, lizards and birds. The tour had been there highlight so far in Costa Rica. We finished the tour with a freshly cut pineapple. We absolutely recommend having a guide it would be nearly impossible to find the animals on your own and their knowledge is amazing.

Really nice to walk around and look for sloths. It was still dry season so we didn't see any frogs. We saw a young male sloth moving which is rare to see. We spend about 1 1/2 hours there enjoying the nature. There are some tour guides walking around which was nice to talk too. They were friendly and helpful. Also the fresh cut pineapple on the way out was a nice touch!

Excellent tour lead by Eduardo - he was leader of our small group of 5 - took the time to let us all see the sloths as well as take photos- even took a small break from the heat 1/2 way thru and took some photos of Arenal from the viewpoint along the tour-
We saw many sloths and a poison dart frog as well !!

Great place. U can go as many times as u want. Very laid back. We saw a bunch of cool things. I didn’t pay for a guide but I did tip them for the things I was able to see. We went a bunch of times.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
I did a tour with Alex, only 5 of us in the group. We saw so much! 2 and 3 toed sloths, (mum & baby, juveniles and adults) dart frog, bullet any, owls, toucans and more. Alex Was an amazing guide, very patient with the children in the group, knowledgeable, friendly and above all great eyes for spotting everything!! I would never have seen so much (or maybe anything!) without him as everything has incredible camouflage.
I went on the 8am tour and this was a great time - everything waking up and moving around before the day got too hot.
Your ticket is also valid for the whole day so you can come back any time if you want to try it at different times of the day.
The paths are level, well kept, suitable for buggies and they're even planning to get a specially adapted wheelchair to make it even more accessible.
Best tour I've done in all my travels, definitely worth the extra.

I cannot recommend this enough! Our guide, William was passionate, knowledgeable and so engaging. My sister and I had the BEST experience. We never would have spotted the sloths 🦥 and many other amazing creatures had we not done the guided tour. Well worth it!

This is a fantastic place to visit, easy to find right in La Fortuna. For maximum experience, do a guided tour or you will miss a lot, especially the sloths who can be hidden in plain sight. I recommend the earliest time slot as some wildlife is more active then. We were fortunate to have the original founder Giovanni, who told us amazing stories about Bogarin’s history, as our guide. This place started as a dream and in 22 years grew from farmland into an amazing piece of rainforest filled with birds, sloths, frogs, lizards. We saw all of these! Some of the birds were quite unusual like the green ibis, boat-billed heron and white-collared manakin. Would visit again if returning to Costa Rica. Good for all ages.

One of our favorite activities while visiting Costa Rica. Our guide pointed out animals we would have never seen on our own including sloths, poisonous frogs, toucans and bats. The passion and love he has for Costa Rica and it's nature was evident in the information he shared and making sure all on the tour saw it's beauty. He also took wonderful pictures and videos on our phones so we could bring the memories back with us. Highly recommend this tour.

Hi there looking for a tour for 4 adults in the next 3 days. Do you have availability and how much please would it be? Thank you

I agree with everyone that a guide is worth the money. All the people working there were pleasant and helpful, a group of 4 people should not be a problem if you just show up. I’d go early, your admission is good all day, you could take a break (there’s a good food court type place nearby) and go back and wander around on your own.

How do we book a guided tour ahead of time?

We called the day of to inquire about a tour. They let us know the prices. They offered to have us book over the phone but we just let them know we were going to arrive in about an hour and ended up booking upon arrival. Highly recommend going with the guide to be able to see the wildlife.

You can show up minutes before any guided tour scheduled, but we recommend to save your space in advance since we work with small groups. Besides booking is free of charge!

We toured with Geovani over 12 yrs ago and loved his tour. He was an amazing bird guide and absolutely passionate about birds. I would love to contact him if we come again. Does anyone have his contact info? Thanks!

Agreed. They are very responsive. Not sure if they would give his personal information out specifically, but it seems that he is often there and I think he had a public email or social media page to reach him at.

Hello. Do I have to take the tour and pay $35 or I can just pay the general entrance fee $10 and tour on my own? Thanks

Get a guide for this tour! We thought we could do CR without a guide and finally broke down after many hikes of not seeing anything. This was my absolute favorite thing we did. The guide William was fantastic he showed us the blue jean frog, the red eye tree frog, 7 sloths and some caiman along with tons of birds. I can honestly say we would not have seen anything but maybe one sloth if we had been on our own. Also had great conversation about his life growing up in CR.

What is the best time of day to do this tour to see the most sloth activity? We'll be there the first week of September. Thanks!

We will be visiting in April and staying at Tabacon. Does anyone have any experience with getting transportation to the trail without a rental car. Assuming we can just take a taxi but just curious of others experience. Thanks!

You can ask at the Reception of Tabacon Hotel to call a taxi for you. We have many clients that have been doing that :)
