This is a beautiful old cemetery with ancient headstones and gorgeous old trees draped with Spanish moss everywhere. Very evocative, you can feel the heartache and loss from the civil war. Having followed the Alabama Civil Rights Trail the day before and crossed the EP...More

Gorgeous old cemetery draped in Spanish moss. Literally a walk through time. Easy to walk through and great for taking pictures.

I loved this cemetery. Very interesting with some special monuments about Selma and the civil war. Also ex VP of USA from Selma. (he started Selma actually) Lovely layout and very interesting reading the markers.

This is one of the prettiest places n Selma. The huge Live Oak trees give it a very serene and peaceful atmosphere. There are Civil War area gravesites here. Great site for history!

I love cemeteries! This one is small, charming and very easy to get around and explore. Just a couple blocks off highway 80.

Visited with my sister. The trees are lovely with the moss. The veneration and adoration of Nathan Bedford Forrest was disturbing.

Loved the live oaks with the spanish moss hanging everywhere. The cemetery has some beautiful stones and statuaries. Some of the graves are very old. Wish we would've brought mosquito spray. Suggest the city install speed bumps on King St since it cuts right thru...More

When I visited, I do not remember seeing any posted hours for visiting. It was a public cemetery, stroll as you please:) I am unaware of any formal tours.
