If you're into smaller and hidden and kind of artistic venues, this is the place to go for. Also it has of course great historic value, although you only get cheap copies from the souvenir shop. Despite this I still encourage tourists to buy smth...More

It's bit difficult to find as it's located in a residential area, but really worth it if you would like to see rare posters from the communist propaganda form 20th century.

The museum itself is something. Its housed in the basement of a residential building and is itself an artisanal affair. The posters are excellent and really give insight into the different decades which they span. The shop is amazing too - you can buy genuine...More

It's easy to forget China's past in this city; this place is a direct link and reminder of that past! One of the most impressive stops we made while in Shanghai!!

Very small, private collection but a rare look at Chinese cultural history. Wish I had bought a couple of the irreplaceable original posters. Great little collection. Off the beaten path.

Defiantly worth a visit. Very interesting to see the propaganda over the years and how China portrayed things to their people.

Four of us went to see this museum the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it! It took a little while to find as it’s in the basement of an apartment building; signage (English, Chinese and French) is around and you can ask the parking lot...More
