We were so excited to visit here, but the ballpark is abandoned, and the house/museum is all chained up and closed. I don’t see any evidence that the museum is still open at all. Everything looks pretty neglected.

If you are a baseball lover, you will enjoy knowing that there is a small museum the immortalizes Hank Aaron. It houses many of his family artifacts/heirlooms with a good deal of information on Aaron and how he progressed through the minor and major leagues. If you read the material, you should be quite surprised with facts, throughout the museum--for example, Hank Aaron may never have even entered the major leagues if it wasn't for a minor league injury. Hank was doing horrible (especially with fielding) and his career looked over. He was probably going to be let go within a few months when an injury to another player occurred, and allowed Hank one last opportunity in the outfield. And, that was the beginning of a dominant career!--There are good facts all round the house.

Easy to find with lots of parking. If you have an RV, just check the baseball schedule to make sure there's parking for you. Its behind a commercial-shopping complex. It's open air. Make sure you tell them you are there for Hank Aaron's family home and admission is free.

The Hank Aaron Stadium and Museum was close to other sites, so we decided to take a look. The ballpark was closed, but a staff member opened up the Aaron home museum for us. He talked about seeing Hank the last time he visited his home before his death. The house has exhibits and you can tell the family had limited means - small house and the furnishings on display were simple but functional.

I was in town and heard about this place so stopped by. There was a baseball tournament going on for what I believe was high school kids, so I bought a $5 ticket if nothing more as to walk around the stadium. Hank Aaron's boyhood home is located on the grounds, but was closed for tours while I was there. It is a neat stop with plenty of parking being a former Minor League Baseball stadium.

Visiting for the weekend in Dec we went in search of Christmas lights. A lady @ a local coffee shop suggested the drive thru lights @ Hank Aaron Stadium. It is called Alabama's Christmas Nights of Lights of Mobile. Simply put it is a (or over) million synchronized lights to newer and older Christmas music that is amazing. They have the parking lot sectioned off into drive areas and display areas with all kinds of Christmas lights, displays, tunnels, etc . I have been thru drive thru Christmas lights but I don't think I have ever seen the entire drive thru synchronized at once. If you are in the area for Christmas this is a MUST do.

Nice local stadium for youth sports. The Babe Ruth Tournament was going to start July 31 2020, but I was already going to be out of the area by then or I would have checked it out. Located near 2 nice hotels, and in a wooded area behind a large shopping center there is plenty of shopping/food places and it is right next to the freeway so that is convenient as well. Statue of Hank Aaron and his childhood home was moved there for viewing.

We enjoyed the light show. You turn your radio to the station they tell you to. And the lights are connected to the music. My granddaughter enjoyed it and so did we.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend a Mobile Baybears game before they moved, but at least we were able to attend the Halloween lights display. I’m looking forward to the holiday lights.

$6 per adult. Children under a certain age are free but I don't know the cutoff as we had no little people with us.
Does the light show go on all year or just Christmas time?
