While traveling through Mobile, we got to see the beautiful Mobile Bay. I was shocked to see a house in the middle of the bay, but later learned is is a lighthouse. The USS Alabama battleship is in the bay for tours. Looks like a great place to fish, as well.

I moved to the Mobile area 12 years ago. Oblivious to what Mobile Bay really was. I'm an outdoorsman and have been my whole life. I saw the muddy waters and didn't see the magnificent eco- system that exists here. This huge Area of Watershed: 44,582 square miles creates a tremendous estuary system supporting numerous species. 11 rivers lend water to Mobile Bay.
This is a huge estuary system. One of the largest in the US. Species such as the Manatee, Bald Eagle, & Gulf Sturgeon are just a few species that use this area. Not to mention the seafood nurseries for Shrimp, oysters & fin-fish that exists because of this estuary.
Muddy Water is not always what it appears to be.
Come enjoy this area. It's worth your time and effort to dig into it a little bit.

The upper part of the bay in the delta offers an abundance of wild life which can be seen in a few different ways. Great duck hunting and fishing while in season. Some people don't have a clue what they are looking at and what a great asset it bay is.

Shallow brackish waters, the confluence of several rivers, dolphins, alligators, pelicans, mullet flying out of the water, reeds, sun sparkling on water, incredible seafood.

Being at this bay only requires your absolute attention because it is honestly at some times of the day a breathtaking sight full of wildlife to catch your eyes. Do not leave until the sun is set because standing on Daulphin Island while viewing God's miraculous work of the sun set, is one of Mobile's finest treasures and you are the X that marks the spot because in Mobile, the bay is always there for your eyes, your boats, and your enchantment. Please do yourself a favor while in Mobile and go visit the bay where nature lurks!

We decided to go down to Mardi Gras last weekend and we saw so many beautiful sites. It's amazing how beautiful the sites are around the bay. I encourage you to stop and take in these amazing sites if you are down around Mobile.

My wife and I first visited the Mobile Bay area on July 4th 2018. My goal was to tour the USS Alabama which has been used in various disguises for so many "battleship" movies. Also wanted to hook up with an old classmate who lives in nearby Fairhope. First off, even though many restaurants were closed on the 4th, the fireworks display was wonderful. And you cannot even believe how friendly Mobile folks are. When they ask "how y'all doing?" they do not expect a one-line answer. They want to engage you in a conversation. Dauphin Street, Royal Street, Government Street ... we found that we could walk around at 11 PM and never be concerned about our safety. Mobile is easy to navigate, the causeway has more seafood possibilities than you could hope for and, if you are looking for a small and friendly artsy/crafty destination, Fairhope should be on your list. If I did not have family in Ohio, I would move to somewhere in the Mobile area in a heartbeat. And they really know how to party. I think Marti Gras starts in February and lasts for weeks. This is a great area which is why we went back in January 2019. Do not waste your time doing your own research. Crank up my TripAdvisor reviews.

Locals have been fishing and making a living in Mobile Bay and the delta for centuries.

Very remote but visually accessible, a real national treasure. Be sure to visit any of the great seafood restaurants on the Mobile causeway, try to get a table by a window, and soak in the natural beauty of our Mobile Bay and delta. If you are lucky you may spot an alligator, an osprey, or a flock of pelicans.

Mobile Bay is an incredible gateway to the Delta, a bird sanctuary, and boating, fishing, and kayaking. It shows many different moods depending on time of day, weather conditions, and the tides. There is also great access to Mobile Bay from Dauphin Island and its GREAT beaches. Conditions are almost always great. In the late autumn to late Spring you can take dogs for a great hike to the end of the island and have great viewing of birds and even dolphins along the way and from the point. You'll usually see grey herons, egrets, a variety of gulls and pelicans. Occasionally even cranes.
