Disappointing place, save your time and money to take in the much better Bellingrath Gardens and Home about 20 miles out of Mobile. Construction really disrupts walking access at this time (key large wooden bridge connecting several paths is being replaced). Local artwork for sale in gift shop.

Some of the pictures on this site are from Bellengrath Gardens, which is beautiful too, but about 30 miles south.

Lovely gardens with a variety of paths. We were there as a family and our teenage boys enjoyed feeding the koi. We saw the winter garden and the chickens. Shopped for a few hand made artist pieces. Great way to spend an hour.

They had a wonderful staff. There were beautiful items in the gift shop made by students and local artists. The map was easy to follow. We saw hundreds of different types of beautiful plants and flowers. They had a lovely tea maze and chicken coop.

Although there was not a lot of blooming plants at the time we visited, it was still very enjoyable. Well kept gardens and lots of shady spots to walk/sit and just enjoy nature. We can't wait to go back when the Camellias bloom!

This was two hours of heaven walking the shaded trails, enjoying the sights and varieties of so many plants with a real emphasis on rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias. Most of these were not in bloom, but still delightful. There were a few sculptures, antique columns and a koi pond to add to the variety. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. Even the gift shop was unique and featured items by local artists.

Most botanical gardens around the country are between 30-50 acres. Mobile Botanical Garden is over 100 acres and gorgeous. Includes a winter garden, Japanese garden, incredible walking paths, greenhouse, long leaf pine preserve, resource center and so much more. This has to be one of the best kept secrets on the Gulf Coast....I’ve lived in this area over 30 years and I’ve just discovered this southern treasure.

I went on leap day this year while the temperature was in the high 60s. After parking, I walked to the gate entrance where I was greeted with a warm welcome and introduction to the gardens. The gate attendant provided me with a map, an explanation of the map, and hours of operation.
The restrooms were clean and well kept. The grounds were kept and some parts of the trails were being redone. The gardens offered many beautiful photo-ops and seating throughout the trails. Although some trees and shrubs were just beginning to bud, the magnolias, azaleas, and camellias were in full bloom and put on a spectacular show all over the gardens. I will definitely return at a later date to see all the spring flowers in bloom!

I wasn’t interested in an hours long stroll in the heat. This attraction did the trick. The staff seemed to feel at home.

What is the garden like in late February? Is there anything blooming or pretty to see?

We were there in the first week of April and the Azalias we in Bloom. There was another flower popular in the region that the attendent said was out of bloom so we did not walk up to the area which was past the green house. The walk would still be nice. If you are a member of a nonprofit botanic garden you can show your pass and get in free.
How much is it to do a tiny wedding. We're only going to about 7-8 people in attendance

My suggestion is to contact the botanical gardens to see about cost.
