This place is definitely a hidden gem in Mobile. The food was pipping hot, the drinks were good & themed after our movie, and the staff was friendly. I got the regular tabletop seats, but if I go again I’d definitely recommend the recliners. The tabletop is more like a college classroom. Although it seemed very formal the chairs were still very comfortable. Overall I’d rate the entire experience a 10/10.

Went for the first time today. It may have ruined me from going to regular theaters. It was about $35 for tickets. Food was restaurant prices but very good. I had the angus burger sliders and twice baked potato. It was very good. My husband had the country shrimp and grits. It was $14 but a large portion. Their fries were fresh and good. Drinks were $3. No free refills but the glasses are HUGE. The servers were very attentive. The recliners were excellent. Order and reserve your seats online so you get sit where you want and not have to rush to get there early.

This was my first experience at this venue and I'm really upset! They absolutely ruined going to a traditional theater for me! I can never again sit in an uncomfortable seat with a paper cup between my legs and overpriced popcorn all over my clothes. Not now that I know I can sit in a comfortable recliner sipping on a beer and enjoying good food. What an excellent concept!
Nexus has two viewing rooms. My wife and I chose to see "Bohemian Rhapsody" which turned out to be a good movie. It was showing in the smaller of the two viewing rooms. Each seat has it's own dining tray and a tablet for ordering food and drinks. I stated off with a West Indies Salad and a beer. The wife had the Fried Cheese Bits and a soft drink. The food was very good and, in my opinion, a good size portion. As an entree I ordered the Southern Fried Shrimp and Sea Salt & Pepper Fries. I really expected half-dozen shrimp but was surprised to see about twenty nice size shrimp on the plate. The wife had the Steak Bits and fries and found it to be plenty as well.
Admission to the theater is $15 per person plus tax. The food and drinks are a little pricey but, after all, you are paying for the ambiance and experience as well. I understand there is a restaurant and sports bar upstairs I plan to check out at a later date. I highly recommend Nexus and it truly did change the way I will watch movies in the future!

Yesterday at Nexus was a disaster! Their ordering notebooks were down and they made us order everything at the bar before entering the theater. I ordered several appetizers and requested to order 2 wines so I wouldn't have to interrupt the movie and return to the line at the bar. They refused saying only 1 beverage was allowed at a time per adult. Once in the theater, all of my food arrived at the same time which meant after eating 1 appetizer the others were cold. No compensation or other options were offered. The poor couple next to me received their appetizer, meal and ice cream dessert prior to the movie starting. The dessert was a melted mess when they were ready to eat it. The prices in this establishment are high and they should have a better plan for accommodating this issue. Waiters circling occasionally in the theater is one option. Letting patrons come back another night for the true experience is another option. I won't be back!

Had to convince my husband this would be a fun but now he has raved about it ever since our date night. The movie was fine but the experience was top notch. I have been to this type theater in other cities and the food was movie theater food. (Fair at best). Here you can start with cocktails at the lobby bar and have fun with a great bartender. You can have dinner before the movie. Or go into the theater at a table with comfy captains chairs or an awesome recliner and swing over table. Each has its own iPad for ordering from a full menu. They offer from unique Burgers and Sliders to Eggs Benedict. Must say the wine list was pretty good too!

Went to see Frozen II. Ordered tickets the night before so we could choose seats. Put ourselves in recliners, picked up our tablets, placed orders through the tablet (don't have to pay until you are leaving so you can continually order). Drinks came within one minute, food within 10 minutes, all great, reasonably priced! Beautifully clean, staff is phenomenal, friendly, and trying to make everyone's experience great! Tickets for the movie are a little pricey, but well worth it!! Beer and wine are also offered.

Nexus Cinema Dining was a really fun way to watch a movie, in a very comfortable recliner with servers bringing you food and drink with a click of the IPad!

It's good to see Mobile attracting this type of theater, catching up to larger cities and offering a somewhat different type of cinema/dining experience. Movie tickets here are a bit expensive but that is to be expected. Reserving online is the best option, especially for for peak movie times and popular movies, as the theaters don't hold as many seats as a normal one. This does make for a more enjoyable viewing experience though. There was a brief intro onscreen before the movie started that explained the 4K technology and color differences in how they show movies, and you could really tell how it made the movie look better than in a regular theater. I did find that the layout of the seats online varied slightly from what it actually was. We chose the adjustable reclining seats for an 11am showing and really enjoyed ourselves. Being able to order, pay (and tip) from a tablet at your seat was simple and fast. My only complaint is that the free popcorn servings, although unlimited, were too small (only a handful in a small, shallow bowl) and was overly salted on our visit. Tip: when ordering popcorn get more than one serving at a time if you don't want to have to keep asking for it. Overall this is a really nice place to enjoy a movie and lunch or dinner alone or with friends. I would not recommend it for bringing small children.

My friends and I had a great time at Nexus Cinema Dining in west Mobile on Bruns Dr, which is off Cody Rd. This theater offers a full service restaurant including alcoholic beverages. No one under 21 unless accompanied by someone of age. So, must show ID. They were still waiting on their liquor license when we were there. I purchased our tickets online and was able to reserve our seats. 4 tickets totaled $70.72 which included a $4.44 booking fee. You're provided tablets to order from either in the lobby or from your seat. The tablets were tucked away on the side of each recliner and the screen routinely showed a clip on how to order your food. I used mine through the whole movie for refills on the free popcorn. I paid for my meal using the tablet but could've used cash at the ticket counter. My meal was $27.00
This isn't your average cinema and in my opinion, worth the cost for the experience. My friends and I arrived an hour before the show and sat in their lobby browsing the tablet and catching up. Our movie was the Greatest Showman, which we all enjoyed. We had a great time.
Can't beat dinner and a movie and recliner seating!

Can you just walk in and purchase tickets like you do other theaters or do you have to purchase them online?
Written October 10, 2019
You can do both. We opted to order online so we could pick our seats ahead of time and not have to worry about rushing to get there early.

The movie will run you $35 but the cost of the dinner will depend on what you order. With dinner and drinks the wife and I usually spend about $100.
