This is a beach that reminds me of years gone by, with many happy childhood memories. It is what I would call the "Old Florida" beach, before everything got so crowded with high rise condo's, and restaurants. You can walk on the sand, collect seashells...More

Absolutely beautiful place! Not as crowded as Gulf Shores but it was also during the week when we visited. The walk down the beach was very nice. There was minor litter which says it is kept clean. Definitely a nice place to avoid the larger...More

I had heard such great things about this island, but truthfully, it's just a beach with a lot of old cottages built up on telephone poles so they don't wash away every summer. The public beach was cheaper than many others ($5/car) and had below-average...More

We had a blast. Parking was plentiful and easy to find. I can imagine the experience would be different in the summer, but we found a March weekend that was warm enough to get in the water and have fun.

Although the water will probably not be blue like fancy places but it will be peaceful and relaxing and full of fun memories!

Lots of great boardwalks out to the sand dunes offering wide outlooks over the wild coastline. You could almost feel the history of the pirates and invading ships of the past in this now serene holiday resort.

We walked for miles on the beach everyday during our stay on Dauphin Island. No matter what time of day, there were never any crowds. There is so much room to spread out and spend time just watching the waves. The beach was clean with...More

We were taken to this beach on the first day of our holiday. It is a gorgeous location which we totally fell in love with. The sand is white and very clean, the clear blue sea was very inviting and we had great luck with...More

Loved the boardwalk, nice soft white sand. Wish the ocean was more of a pretty blue, the water was a bit turbulent though. A bit odd seeing so many oil rigs surrounding the island.

Alway have to go to Dauphin Island when I'm in town. It's nice to walk around Ft Gaines and the Audubon sanctuary.

Yes. Usually right after a storm, or heavy rains is your best chance to get the nice ones. Sand dollars, starfish, hermit crab to name a few. West end of beach is best for shelling. They also have a lifeguard on duty.

I don't remember a shower. A public restroom is only on one beach. Portable toilet at others

We had a family reunion last 2 weeks of June at 4 houses along Bienville with about 50 or so folks and no one had a problem. Ages were 3 to 85.
