It takes a bit to walk to the water especially from the parking lot. The water was warm and it was less crowded than many beaches. We watches the dolphins play offshore so that was a bonus. There was more seaweed or something close to...More

Our family visited the Public Beach for the Fourth of July. The fireworks display was fantastic! I would definitely recommend it to families who want the Gulf Coast experience without all of the hustle of many of the other vacation destinations in the area.

Got sun burned. Still had fun. My teenage son had not been to a beach before and he had a great time.

We enjoying going to Dauphin Island Public Beach, it is a 30 minute drive from Mobile and not a tourist destination. The beaches are always clean and beautiful.

Dauphin Island is beautiful. It's quiet, not touristy and a great place to relax. Unfortunately, people who come to the beach leave their garbage on the beach. It is heartbreaking. There needs to be fines given for the smokers who leave their butts on the...More

Yes. Usually right after a storm, or heavy rains is your best chance to get the nice ones. Sand dollars, starfish, hermit crab to name a few. West end of beach is best for shelling. They also have a lifeguard on duty.

I don't remember a shower. A public restroom is only on one beach. Portable toilet at others
