One of the cleanest beaches I have ever been to. Amazing beach front with great people. I honestly told my wife I am writing a letter to the Mayor, because of the cleanliness of the beach and the perfect atmosphere for this special Island. We...More

So my husband is a huge fisherman and it is supposed to rain for the remainder of our trip here in Mobile. So we took a day to go fishing. We just went to the beach because the pier was closed for repairs. I love...More

Uncrowded, clean, calm water. A small negative was the parking near the beach at the fort, was you're at one end of the beach, so if it's busy, you may have to walk a ways to get to seclusion. A little strange to see the...More

Nice quiet time at the beach. It is a longer walk and the paths were flooded so definitely recommend taking the board walk, elevated walk out to the beach.

Dauphin Island is a beautiful beach, lots of sand in this area and shallow water. Take the time to walk the sand bar!

The beach is deep here so be prepared for a long walk on the beach to get to the ocean. Beautiful sand and so much space. Even with a ton of people, you feel like you’re alone on the beach. Plenty of trash cans (please...More

Very sandy, almost white beach. I walked in late afternoon and it was beautiful with plenty of seabirds, and a great sunset. Few shells the few days I was there.

We visited Dauphin island for the day and basically drove around and visited the fort and the beaches. It was extremely quite as it was mid September. There are a lot of beach houses along the beach front but most seemed unaccompanied due to the...More

Try Dauphin Island Beach Rentals. They have many homes. I don't know about a totally private beach, but they do have some gated communities with private beaches. (800) 771-1480. Hope this helps. Have fun! :-)

The west end of beach is best for shelling, but you will need to go right after a storm to find the nicest ones.

Not the best shelling most days. After a storm you may find more shells and ‘treasures’. Having said that, our daughter found two beautiful whole sand dollars on regular morning walks. Good luck!
