We went to the bird sanctuary just to see an alligator and did. I guess we got lucky because we talked with a local walking a dog and she said that was the first one she had seen all summer. Sorry but didn't even look...More

We just visited over Christmas. It was a great easy walk in nature and relaxing time at the beach. Great picture opportunity of the lighthouse from the beach overlook.

This is such a wonderful oasis. We went twice. Several trails. We did get turned around, but it is such a small area that it wasn't a big deal. Maybe you will get lucky and be there on a foggy day and it will obscure...More

If you are looking to get lost the Audubon Bird Sanctuary is the place to go. The signs are unclear and useless and one of the walkways was literally in the water.

The sanctuary was quiet in the winter season. Not many tourists were around. The lakes were peaceful, and the beach had breathtaking views of Mexico Gulf.

I enjoyed my adventure out on the boardwalks and grass trails. I was surprised that there wasn't an indoor visitor's center, but a pavilion with informational boards. Regardless I ventured out after being dropped off. Once on my way there was no turning back and...More

Not sure we were there at best migratory time, as saw no bird life. The trail was nicely maintained. We did see large turtles with interesting markings. Not sure if we saw alligators or logs, since there was no movement. Nice safety markings throughout! There...More

We did the short walk to the first pond. That part is on a boardwalk so it's very easy. We stood out on the dock overlooking the pond and saw an alligator! I would have loved to walk more, but it was the afternoon and...More

I very much doubt that they have wheelchairs. There are a few areas that are on a boardwalk but mostly it is trails/ paths.
