It remains as a landmark of kolkata,one of the oldest. Very cheap ticket price if you want to enjoy a movie with a little pinch in pocket,surrounded by restaurants. will surely suggest to try this one.

This used to a fine cinema house in central kolkata, but with passing time and the management being so incompetent that the hall has lost it's grandeur and is merely standing as an old building now.

New Empire is an well maintained cinema hall. Though this cinema hall dated back to 1960s, but New Empire has been refurbished several times and is now equipped with latest technologies in viewing movies. It has an in-house restaurant cum bar indside the hall,

this is the best street market for artificial jewellery, stole, hand bad, other fancy items . street food here is also amazing. should try maharaja roll also.sports market is bang opposite to new market.

It is a very old theater. It is one of the landmark of Kolkata. Earlier days the legendary magician Lt.P.C.Sarkar performed his magic show in this hall.

It was the most wide screen cinema in Kolkata upto 90's. Also the third floor sitting at the minimum fare with the best viewing experience is really mind blowing. Its a nostalgic cinema experience if any Kolkattan youth cannot forget their earlier days!!! Today it...More

Way back New Empire was one of the Prime Cinema Hall with mostly English movies. This place has also lost its glory after Multiplex coming in

This single screen theatre hall is almost 80 years old with beautiful interiors. The hall is located centrally at Dharmatala. Many other nearby cinema halls (Chaplin, Light House, Metro Cinema, etc.) are closed but New Empire, one of the oldest theatre hall is still running....More

Cost of tickets differ from time to time, but I think price range is around 120-40.
