This expansive beach is Chennai's most famous tourist attraction, though the undercurrent is too strong for all but the strongest swimmers. Look out for the "Kannagi" statue on Marina Beach, which tells the story of the legendary character from a South Indian epic.

Took my grandchildren to Marina Beach in the evening and had a gud time. Although it was crowded, there was ample space to sit and enjoy the breeze. Vendors selling cotton candy, ground nut etc do not bother you unnecessarily... It was fun to wet...More

Beach is good but too crowded. Too many food stall available near the beach and public transportation is easily available. Suggestion : you will have to walk a lot to reach near the beach.

Apart from the cleanliness everything is good. They should maintain it like the Elliot's beach. Make it more for family people rather than the couple's hitchhiking. That's the only concern.

Yes, it is.. but avoid lonely stretches of the beach. There will be quite a few people in the beach after 8 pm & it is better to be where people are
