Genuine authentic Karnataka govt owned outlet for buying traditional Mysore silk sarees. They have well collection. Price is bit more due to originality and quality. They have only 4 outlets in Mysore. KR circle, near zoo and factory cum outlet

If you are prepared to spend about Rs. 20,000/- you can get a Pure Mysore Silk Sari. The purity of silk and jari (golden thread) are 100 % guaranteed. The range varies from Rs. 15 K - 20 K to Rs. 40 Lakhs.

This visit was not planned, more an Indian happening on the way to Kabini. Unfortunately you cannot take pictures inside, it would have been great to be able to make beautiful pictures of the crafts, to lines of silk, the drums rotating the silk threads......More

We reached the factory by 4.15 which was a kind of late. Any traveller willing to see it ensure to be there at maximum by 3.00pm so you will have enough time. Visited the silk showroom also but gound expensive.
