I booked the day walk around Shimla with KPYM Himachal. It was amazing. My guild, Mehar, showed me around the markets, took me to the Ridge and Scandal Point, then up to Jakhu temple. We had some local food and saw some incredible views of the town and surrounding area. Mehar also proved to be a wealth of information and I learned a lot about the local history.

A few men from the local villages make up this organization which helps to provide education for women and children. They are full of knowledge about Himachal Pradesh and the best places to show you! They made me feel welcome and at home during my first trip to India. I highly recomend supporting them and their tours as the money goes back into helping the villages!

I spent a lovely day discovering Shimla and its rich history. My tour guide was Mehar Singh and his knowledge of Shimla was vast. I have a keen interest in British history and Shimla did not disappoint- as the summer capital of the British Raj it boosts many British made buildings. Also the bustling markets of Shimla expose oneself to many different smells, sights and noises. Definitely recommend this tour with KPYM Himachal (Wahoe) !!!! Thanks a lot

We have spent a great time in Himachal Pradesh with Wahoe! It was my second time travelling with Wahoe and it was perfect, as expected! I went there with a couple of friends from university and we really enjoyed the beautiful landscape and the cities! Himachal Pradesh is a must see! I can recommend it to everyone to join the adventure "India" with Wahoe. It was organized excellent, there have been no complications and we had a great time with locals and with the staff from Wahoe! I'll visit India again as soon as possible!

Leaving from the Wahoe office in Shimla to Galot, Himachal Pradesh I was warmly received by Bhanu Sharma--an excited, young teenager with many questions about my home and culture. We walked through the streets of Shimla to the local bus station around 5 pm. The unfamiliar jungle of streets, side streets, hills and steps became a pleasant breeze with the help of my local guide. We reached the bus station and immediately took off to Bhanu's home village in Galot where we were welcomed by his mother Suman and father Raju.
I stayed with the Sharma family for four nights with a different activity every few hours. I was able to take part in daily life of Himachal people. The most exciting activities included picking seasonal Himsona tomatoes, transporting grass for local livestock, and playing a Himachal card game--which I still do not quite understand. The best part of my experience in Galot with the Sharmas--besides the delicious local cuisine--was interacting with local school children. I had the chance to teach these bright young kids conversational English while exploring themes of our differing cultures. These students were of course shy upon first meeting but opened up with bright smiles and laughter by the end of our session.
During my short time time with the Sharmas I was invited to several dinners and events--clearly as the honored guest. I was treated as a king under the Sharma household and have been invited as a continued guest indefinitely. I am truly humbled by their kindness.

While staying with the NGO I was lucky enough to get a tour with local college student Sonu, who took me and two other volunteers around the different markets and squares of Shimla! It was great fun to be with a local who knew the ins and outs of the city. I learned a lot about the town's rich culture and history!

This is really a great way to discover Shimla's local markets which are otherwise easily missed or overlooked.
The guide has taken us for a pedestrian tour for 2-3 hours and provided good insights and explanations. We were then invited to share a simple local meal with the team in the NGO premises.
The NGO also offers tours in the surroundings of Shimla (temples and nearby villages).
Also a great way to support their social development activities! Go for it!

It was nice tour. Our guide was a college student who speaks good English and he was knowledgeable.
We walked around local streets and saw vegetable market, spice market, temple and so.
We saw how people are living in this hill city. And we learned history and culture of Shimla and Himachal Pradesh as well.
If you come to Shimla, you should join the tour first. You will find how to enjoy Shimla and it is helpful for your better tour.
