This train is unique and fun for about an hour then it feels uncomfortable and noisy for the last three hours. Our train was almost two hours late so it made for a long day. But the tunnels and views were interesting.

Though Shimla Railway takes time but it’s best experience them.. nature can been at its best ... since railway track is constructed at time of British rule its has heritage feeling .. tunnels through which train goes and zig zag routes are just awesome

Definitely one way only it’s an experience but very uncomfortable. A must do. You need to purchase the ticket upfront as it’s always sold out

Hi all, I would like to plan a trip to Shimla for my summer vacation. I would love to hear opinions for places to visit and location of stay. 1. Time period June 30- July 05 2018 (5 days) and we are five members (myself, my wife and 3 sons (ages 9, 5 and 1 year) 2. I am working in Dubai and travelling from Dubai to Chandigarh on 30 June Saturday Morning and reach Chandigarh by 12 noon. 3. Please advice on travel from Chandigarh to Shimla (Best option is train or Bus or Private Taxi?) 4. Is there any places to visit in Chandigarh? if yes can i stay there in Chandigarh for 1 day and start traveling on next day ie 1st of July? or Since I need to leave from Chandigarh by 5th July 12.00 noon, can I start early from Shimla on 4th July? 5 . I am from South India and not having much idea about north Indian Places. Please advise how the climate will be on July? Can we witness snow? Kindly help in choosing a places to stay in shimla and nearby locations. All your feedback's are much appreciated. Warm Regards!!!!
