Food walk in the by-lanes of old Delhi - this might sound like any other food walk until you add Ramit in the mix! This guy's passion and compassion is next level. So I had so many things to enjoy during our rendezvous - the walk with family, the food, Ramit's company and the stories. It's a must do - Ramit is a bonus to all the Delhi history story telling and eating so much sumptuous food! Ramit - I am a fan! :o)

We were a group of 10 people of mixed ethnicities and backgrounds. Some, having grown up abroad and never visited India before wanted to see Delhi through the eyes of a local but were worried about how to experience the food without getting sick, which eateries to trust? In came Delhi by Foot!
Ramit was leading our walk, he is friendly, picks up the vibe of the group and is an excellent story teller. We learnt about the history of Chandni Chowk, ate amazing chaat and went on to eat even better kebabs. Ramit and Aakash took care of our group and we not only got an excellent tour of Old Delhi but also made friends with both of them! It was one of the most memorable afternoon of our trip, some even thought that not even famous 5-star restaurants could match up to the kebabs of Chandni Chowk.
I love that no one got sick, all places are vetted, Ramit and his team really know their history and have flair for story telling. I cannot reccommend Delhi by Foot enough, especially if you aren't used to Delhi street food. And if it isn't clear, none of the foreigner friends got sick from the food!!! We ate great food and felt safe, 10/10 experience!

My friends and I were very keen on visiting Chandi Chowk, and trying all the delicious food there. My aunt recommended Ramit from Delhi by foot for his expertise, knowledge of history, and impeccable food choice. We had a great experience with Ramit, ate some of the most delicious (and hygienically prepared) food, and got some interesting insights into the history of Chawri Bazar and Chandi Chowk. Thank you Ramit! It was an absolutely amazing experience, and I highly recommend Ramit to anyone wanting to explore Old Delhi.

My family and I felt so comfortable with and impressed by Ramit. He shared great stories of Nizamuddin Basti and its history with us and guided the tour in an expert, relaxed manner. We can’t wait to book a different Delhi By Foot tour on our next trip to Delhi!

History can't be taught ... like stories it needs to to be told, narrated, explained.. it needs to encourage the young minds to question how things have evolved and be proud of that evolution.. it teaches one to learn from past and strive to make a better cohabitation for future.. history is a bundle of written facts coupled with remnants of those facts in real life be it monuments, practice, language, culture call it with any name... and a true way to know and learn History is through the DBF walks.. my second with them.. and I look forward to more... I am happy my 9 year old relates to what he sees and learns in the walks to what he reads in chosen children history books.. Thank you DBF team and special thanks to Mariam and Ramit with whom I had my 2 walks.. and we will meet soon

Thank you for the amazing walk experiences and helping to learn more about Delhi. Indeed the team is very kind and super knowledgeable about the history and culture of Delhi. Team brings out new experiences at different walks celebrating historical time and festivals. I have done many walks with them and my most favourite one were New Delhi Lutyens walk, Chandni Chowk food walk, discussing Shiva in national museum ( most surreal experience) with ek din ki baat hai. The lovely stories are quite engaging and make you travel back to the old times and cherish it.
Must recommend delhi by foot walks :)

It was a very hot and humid day, but it did not stop us to slip into the alleys and explore the markets near the Red Fort. I really like the history behind the area. Our visit to one of the famous Sikh temples also very interesting and very enlightening. Our tour guide is super friendly, super accommodating when we stopped for quite a while to buy souvenirs (lol). And the street foods we ate in between gave extra fun into the mix!

This was one of the best guided tours I have been a part of. Maryam was absolutely terrific! Aside from the fact that she is a scholar of the subject itself, it was wonderful to listen to her weave together the narratives across the different time periods and explain them in the context of the monuments we were visiting and in the larger context of Delhi itself. The storytelling was really engrossing and kept us completely engaged - time just flew by. It’s a testament to Maryam’s storytelling talent that even after the walk ended, we were still discussing about the minute historical facts and nuances that came up during the narration.

She was also a thorough professional- although we started late due to traffic issues, she adjusted the pace accordingly and made sure we covered the important parts of the walk. 5-stars and I would definitely take this up again and recommend to other guests too.

We did a tour of Old Delhi with Maryam and she was excellent with her depth of knowledge about the historical events and cultural experience. We visited havelis, Jama Masjid and the Spice Market to name a few and also squeezed in a couple of rickshaw rides. Highlight were the jalebis, kachoris and matar samosas which were absolutely yum. Overall, a very good fun experience and highly recommend it.
