Forte Mare fortress offers truly beautiful views to its visitors. The cost of entering is a symbolic sum and is definitely worth going for a nice little stroll through the Old Town to this important historical site. In the summer months, the fortress is used...More

Visited Herceg-Novi on a warm October afternoon, parked at the top near the main road and then walked down the steps and almost past this place. I decided to go in and have a look around and I'm glad I did. It costs 2 Euros...More

Not really sure what I expected but after climbing up stairs there wasn’t really anything there apart from the views. There was a video to watch with English sub titles but only watched a bit of it. There wasn’t anyone to tell you where to...More

Fortress is small but very solid with an imposing shape. All around roads and beach are not clean and full of dirt. Even the sea was full of beer bottles and cans.

I think that those who mention an admission fee may be getting Fort Mare mixed up with the Citadel as I don't recall seeing anything about having to pay, or for that matter any reason why you would need to. The Fort is really no...More

At 2018, entrance cost is 2 euro. You don't really get much for that! There are views to be had over the bay and town, but that special. There's Kanli Kula (citadel) at the top of town for the same price and that's far better...More
