The historical buildings and rooms inside the fortress are worth a visit. Although, one would need a local guide to explain everything. The guiding inside is not well organised.

A massive fortress which originally held the old town. Has an impressive entrance and a number of reconstructed buildings inside.

The walls, the interior buildings, the history; totally amazing. I think our guide was particularly good - HI GULI! (if you read this!) I could have stayed there all day soaking up the history and culture.

A military structure, the Ark contained what was essentially a city that, during much of the fortress history, was inhabited by the various royal courts that dominated the surrounding Bukhara region.

The best show is from the outside. The walls are massive, and there’s a guy walking around with a camel offering cheap rides on his beautifully dressed animal. The inside took 20 minutes to see since most of the palace is destroyed.

These fortifications are the historic remains of a big mud wall. Once the whole city was surrounded by this construction.
