This unique collection of tombs for Timurlane's relatives is spectacular, but the stairway up to the tombs is very steep, so come prepared. It also gets very crowded with both tourists and locals making a pilgrimage to the site.Best to do this in early morning...More

Most of the walls were destroyed in various conflicts centuries ago and they are now being rebuilt. Well worth a visit

A couple cells, and the bug pit. not really much to see. Wortyh a pass, despite being on the main tour paths.

The Zindan of Bukhara is famous for 2 things the incarceration af Stoddard and Conelly and the Bug pit where the were kept before being executed there apart from the story of these 2 rather hapless english men there is a small exhibition of shakles...More

There are only a couple of rooms to view, but interesting because of the 'bug pit' where the British army officer Charles Stoddart was imprisoned before his eventual execution. It is situated round the back of the citadel.

Although very impressive from the outside the inside is definitely worth visiting if only to see the infamous "Bug Pit" dungeon where the two British "Great Game" spies (Captain Connolly and Colonel Stoddart) were held for 3 years by Nasrullah the brutal Emir of Bokhara....More

As most Bukharan museums, not much written explanation was given. It would have been interesting to hear e.g. what where the reasons inmates were jailed for, how long they stayd, etc. Howevever the cost wasn'bad either
