In my opinion the monuments of Samarkand are in general more spectacular that Bukhara but overall Bukhara old city is by far more interesting than Samarkand. This is the heart of the city and as such a great place to strong visit historical and religious...More

Square that comes to life in the evening. People watching is rewarding. We were there towards the end of a festival and everything was alive.

The area is surrounded with lovely little restaurants and close to the Jewish ghetto area. Muslims and Jews lived for centuries side by side. A very pleasant spot to sit under the trees and rest in the shade
