You need to do it because you are visiting Pai. I have seen a hundred big Buddha statues living in Eastern Asia or I would have enjoyed this more. The view is quite narrow, but decent. There are nicer views elsewhere. I went around 9...More

Have to climb up like 250 stairs to get there. View is pretty good. Have to wear long pants and cover your arms. But on top of it is ‚just‘ the white Buddha

Worth it! No entrance fee and the walk up the stairs is nothing to see the magic at the White Buddha. Highly recommend going for sunset, it’s just a few min drive out of the main town area, wear your temple clothes!

A giant Buddha that you can see from the town below nestled up in the hills. There was over 300 stairs which are doable for most and there are places to stop and catch your breath if you need to. Sunset there is awesome. He...More

The huge Buddha statue was quite interesting to look at. The steps were quite a climb but nothing too strenuous. Just stop to catch your breath. I went in December so it was quite cooling but it was pretty sunny so I'd recommend you remember...More

Went for sunset, was nice. Cover shoulders and knees as this is still a temple. You’ll get sweaty going up the stairs, but it’s well worth it!

We cycled to the top. The hill was very steep. The pure white Buddha is huge and the view from the top of the hill is stunning, all the way into Myanmar. You can also climb the steps or drive to the top. Well worth...More

The view from here is worth the climb if you are walking. The white Buddha is ok and sunglasses are advised if it's really sunny

We were brought up here by minivan - thank goodness as the road was very steep! A lovely enormous white Buddha on a hill overlooking the river and into Myanmar. Nobody else there at the time, as it was late morning. We also travelled to...More

No, you need to climb the stairs. However the view is better from the small temple at the bottom of the staircase.
