The view from here is worth the climb if you are walking. The white Buddha is ok and sunglasses are advised if it's really sunny

We were brought up here by minivan - thank goodness as the road was very steep! A lovely enormous white Buddha on a hill overlooking the river and into Myanmar. Nobody else there at the time, as it was late morning. We also travelled to...More

Easy to get to by bike or scooter. There are a few steps to climb and then you get to the sitting buddha looking out over the valley. On a clear day would be great, but as usual the smoke haze and heat ruined that...More

Give yourself plenty of time to walk up the stairs (10 minutes) to be at the top for sunset. Many tour groups bring people here as the last stop so can be a little overcrowded. As it is a temple you must also cover your...More

My wife and myself visited here as part of a tour. It's worth a visit. There are quite a few steps up to the large White Buddha and the views are stunning. Some come here for the sunset instead of Pai Canyon.

It is hard to get excited about wats in Thailand, as omnipresent as they are. This one is old and a little worn, a plus in my book compared with the gaudy and boring new ones. The long walk up stairs guarded by dragons is...More

This place is absolutely beautiful for sunset, an absolute must visit while you are in Pai. The big Buddha at the top is worth it alone even without the sunset, it's just a cooler time of day to walk up those stairs!

Went for sunset which was pretty spectacular, and surprisingly not as busy as some of these places get at sunset.

Fantastic view from the temple. You must visit here. I recommend to park your bike and climb up to the temple. It can be little bit harsh but you can enjoy fascinating view while you climb the hill. You must visit here!

The Wat was recently burned out inside but it makes for some cool pictures. The Big Buddha has scaffolding around it right now. Make sure you bring a wrap ladies or you can’t walk up the last 200 steps to the Buddha. We walked from...More

No, you need to climb the stairs. However the view is better from the small temple at the bottom of the staircase.
