This review is purely on the snorkeling, and not the land portion of the bay itself. We visited Shark Bay with a snorkeling tour group, and it was pretty sobering. We had spent our entire week in Koh Tao diving some of the more vibrant/healthy...More

They wanted us to pay 100 baths but I threat them to call the police and finally they let us stay for free! Anyway the snorkeling was not worth as the coral is all dead . We didn't see the shark or turtle.

Shark Bay has a lovely beach, beautiful water and a resort which allows you to use the washrooms. There are not any beach chairs for non-guests, but you can find a nice spot under one of the many beach trees and enjoy the day.

I would recommend this bay if you are looking to see the black tip reef shark or some sea turtles but be warned there is very little too see here besides the two(really lacking coral formations).

Rent a scooter, drive to Haad Tien resort, pay 100 TBH to get down to the beach, go snorkeling on the left side about 25 metres out - Sharks guaranteed. 5/5! A fellow backpacker told me she saw a turtle out there!

Amazing beach to chill and snorkel. If you are luck you can spot Turtles and Black tip reef sharks. Definitely worth a visit!

Shark Bay is an amazing destination for snorkelling and shallow freediving. You can see not only Black Tip Reef Sharks but Green Sea Turtles, Triggerfish, and other fish species that surround the island.

Please check Google for the correct location in South East side of the Island. The place itself is amazing. Entry costs 100 bahts per person.

Very impressive moment. I just stay here a few minute during an excursion and it was very incredible. The wildlife is very beautiful, and you have a lot of sharks who swim just next to you. If you have chance, it's possible to see turtle...More

Try and get to Koh Rok (i think that’s the spelling) in Thailand, best snorkelling you’ll find out of all the south islands! Places that are more ‘party islands’ are basically destroyed out at sea due to tourists.
